Comment rules


The Island asks that you use your best judgment in submitting comments to the site. The Island does not warrant the accuracy or reliability of viewpoints and information expressed in the comments section of the site, and comments are the sole responsibility of the person who submits them.

The Island asks users not to submit comments that:

Contain vulgar, profane, abusive, racist or hateful language or expressions, epithets or slurs, or inflammatory attacks of a personal, racial or religious nature.

Are defamatory, threatening, disparaging, false or misleading, fraudulent, inaccurate, contain gross exaggeration or unsubstantiated claims, violate the privacy rights of any third party, are unreasonably harmful or offensive to any individual or community.

Discriminate on the grounds of race, religion, national origin, gender, age, marital status, sexual orientation or disability.

“Flame” any individual or entity by sending repeated comments related to another user and/or making derogatory or offensive comments about another individual.

Contain copyrighted or other proprietary material of any kind without the written permission of the owner of that material.

Advertise, promote or offer to trade any goods or services, except in areas specifically designated for such purpose.

Use or attempt to use another person’s registration account, password, service or system except as expressly permitted.

Upload or transmit viruses or other harmful, disruptive or destructive files, material or code.

Disrupt, interfere with, or otherwise harm or violate the security of The Island, or any services, system resources, accounts, passwords, servers or networks connected to or accessible through The Island or linked sites.
