Monday, April 18


FORKLIFT THEFT: Police are investigating the theft of a forklift from the 600 block of West Hornet Avenue near the USS Hornet Museum and Hornet Field. According to authorities, the vehicle belongs to Cromer Equipment in Oakland.

ROBBERY: Two armed suspects used a gun to rob a third individual of marijuana and cash on the 500 block of Lagunaria Lane, police said.


Tuesday, April 19


ROBBERY: Two or more suspects used handguns to rob victims at a dice game on or near the property of the bowling alley at 300 Park Street, authorities said. Police do not believe the incident is related to other recent robberies.

GRAND THEFT FROM VEHICLE: An unknown suspect or suspects stole the tires and rims from a commercial vehicle on the 1000 block of Marina Village Parkway, officials said.

BURGLARY: An unknown suspect forced entry into a residence on the 2000 block of Otis Drive and removed property, police said.

STOLEN PROPERTY ARREST: Police arrested Antonio Alberto Garcia, 19, of Alameda, and a juvenile on suspicion of possessing stolen property following the theft of between $2,000 and $6,000 worth of coins from the trunk of a car on the 1300 block of Bay Street. Authorities alleged that Garcia and the juvenile brought the coins to at least two shops in an attempt to cash them in.

BAD CHECKS ARREST: Police arrested a 21-year-old San Leandro man for attempting to cash and deposit a fictitious check at Bank of America on the 2200 block of Otis Drive.

PROHIBITED PERSON WITH AMMUNITION ARREST: Police arrested a 45-year-old Oakland man for unlawfully possessing ammunition while being a convicted felon. The arrest occurred in the area of Willow Street and Buena Vista Avenue, police said.

Stolen vehicle: White 1990 Toyota Camry, between 3:45 p.m and 9 p.m. today, from the 2100 block of Otis Drive.


Wednesday, April 20


COMMERCIAL BURGLARY ARREST: Police arrested Eric Jon Cansler, 40, of Oakland on suspicion of burglary after they said Cansler attempted to gain access to a storage container on the 2300 block of Orion Street on Alameda Point. A second individual suspected in the incident escaped and was not located. Authorities said they are investigating to determine whether the case connects to other thefts and attempted thefts in the area.

BATTERY: Police said an individual punched a second individual in the face during an argument.

STRAY BULLET: A resident of the 1700 block of Cambridge Street found a stray bullet near her garbage can, police said. The round apparently traveled through the gutter of the residence before landing on the ground. Alameda Police Lt. Sean Lynch said the bullet “could have been fired from anywhere” and that it is unlikely that the Cambridge Street residence was targeted.

BURGLARY: Police are searching for the unknown suspect or suspects who entered a residence on the 2100 block of Encinal Avenue and stole items.


Thursday, April 21


GRAND THEFT: An unknown suspect or suspects stole a generator from the 1900 block of Skyhawk Street by unknown means, police said.

BURGLARY: Authorities said an unknown person or persons pried open the back door to a residence on the 3200 block of Cape Cod Lane, stole items, and fled the area.

BATTERY: An individual punched another individual in the arm during an argument, police said.

POSSIBLE DRUGGING: Police are investigating the possibility that a woman was drugged while drinking at The Churchward Pub on the 1500 block of Park Street.

Stolen bicycles: Workman brand three-wheel bicycle with a basket, between 12:30 p.m. and 1:26 p.m. today, from the 2200 block of South Shore Center.

Black and brown Rocket brand girls’ bicycle, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. today, from the 800 block of Taylor Avenue.


Friday, April 22


BATTERY: An individual punched another individual in the face multiple times, officials said.

Stolen vehicles: Silver 2002 Hyundai Sonata, between 4 p.m. October 3, 2010 and 4 p.m. October 4, 2010, from the 2500 block of Noble Avenue.

Blue 1988 Toyota Camry, between 7:30 p.m. April 21 and 11 p.m. today, from the 1100 block of Union Street.


Saturday, April 23


ROBBERY: Police are investigating an incident in which two youths were robbed on the 2100 block of Clinton Avenue by at least three suspects who may have followed the victims from a party.

BATTERY: Police arrested a juvenile for punching another individual in the face, causing minor swelling.


Sunday, April 24


GRAND THEFT FROM VEHICLE: An unknown suspect or suspects removed rims and tires from a vehicle on the 1700 block of Park Street, police said.

RESISTING OR OBSTRUCTING POLICE ARREST: Police arrested a 20-year-old Alameda man for obstructing or resisting police after the man allegedly jumped off of a balcony on the 900 block of Shoreline Drive and hid in order to avoid police contact. The man had an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court, officials said. He faces an additional charge of drinking in public.

ATTEMPTED CHURCH BURGLARY: An unknown suspect or suspects attempted to open the office door of Chosen Vessels Christian Church on the 700 block of Haight Avenue with an unknown tool, authorities said.
