Little House Café Little Angels vs. Oakland Purple Peacocks
The Little Angels played with great intensity in their first road game of the season. The offensive explosion was led by Madeline Doten and Kamryn Beene, who cleared the bases with grand slam home runs. In the field, Siena Balaian put on a defensive clinic by tracking down ground balls all over the diamond. Avery Griggs and Sophia Cooke also contributed behind the plate with outstanding play at the catcher position.
WebAssign Blue Dolphins vs. Piedmont #2
The field was artificial, but the hitting was real for the WebAssign Blue Dolphins as they matched against the Piedmont Purple Stars early Saturday, April 2. Jadyn Banaria and Cambria Restagno got started with excellent hits while Rosie Harris assisted in the hitting and supported her team with a positive attitude. While the weather was cloudy, the sun shone on the strong hitting of the entire team.
Harbor Bay Realty Blue Dynamite 6, Fruitti Yogi Blue Diamonds 5
The Blue Diamonds showed their growing confidence and skill in a hard-fought loss. Ani Tuutafaiva shone at pitcher and recorded two strikeouts. After falling behind, the Blue Diamonds tied the game in the second when Isobel Moore knocked in Raquel Williams and Zoe Matsuzaki drove in Lula Johnson. The Diamonds rallied again in the fourth with strong hitting from Ayako Kiener, Cate Rosenbaum and Ani, but came up short.
Fruitti Yogi Blue Diamonds 5, AdvanceHealth Chiropractic/Law Offices of Scott Hennigh Royal Dragons 4
The Blue Diamonds sparkled in a 5-4 win over the Royal Dragons. The Blue Diamonds started strong, putting up four runs with solid hitting from Ani Tuutafaiva (two-RBI double) and Raquel Williams (two-RBI double). Cate Rosenbaum continued her consistent hitting and was driven in for the game-winning run with a clutch hit by Jayda Aviles.
Carroll Construction Lightning Bolts 12, Harbor Bay Realty Blue Dynamite 0
All players had hits in this game, with four runs coming in the first from Katie Cheung, Olivia Low, Natalie Mesterhazy and Zoe McCampbell. Tori Eichel knocked in Lily McKee and Natalie Mendelsohn with a strong hit to the outfield and Jordyn Moore struck out the side in the third with the exception of one hit to first base. Lauren Hubbs had a strong catch, tagging Lauren Gaughan out at first base.
Bayside Specialty & Dr Johnson & Jolley Clover Dragons vs. Coast Guard Chiefs Firecrackers
The Clover Dragons took on the Firecrackers this Saturday with hits from Adella, Cynthia, Maddie, Kiera, Adele, Hanna, Abbyrose, Kelly, Lola and Vicki. All of the girls cheered to help their team’s positive morale. Impressive defensive plays came from Vicki and Kiera. The final score was close, as both teams played their best with winning attitudes!
Citizen Canine Black Magic 7, Coast Guard Cutter Aspen Blue Nosed Pit Bulls 3
The Coast Guard Cutter Aspen Blue Nosed Pit Bulls played a great game but came up short, losing 7-3 to the Black Magic. The Pit Bulls debuted pitcher Tabitha Compton, who recorded her first strikeout. Samantha Montgomery showed off her defensive skills as she fielded a tough grounder at second base and threw out a runner at first base. Jane Rausser fueled the Pit Bulls’ offense with an inside-out liner to right field early in the game. She later scored on a walk after she stole both second and third base. Sydney Owyang helped keep the game close in the second inning as she singled and drove in a run. Owyang later stole second base as well.
Coast Guard Cutter Aspen Blue Nose Pit Bulls 8, Dr. Johnson & Jolley Royal Dragons 3
The Dr. Johnson & Jolley Royal Dragons battled hard against the Coast Guard Cutter Aspen Blue Nose Pit Bulls, who came up with an 8-3 win. Bella Vick and Emani Vaughn chalked up RBIs in the first inning as the Dragons took a three-run lead. Starting pitcher Jemma Thorpe struck out five batters and kept the Pit Bulls hitless for two innings. Vick doubled in the third inning and Vaughn singled. Emma Rodden, Katie Gee, and Thorpe singled in the fourth inning. Carlin Shannon doubled in the fifth inning and Rachel Nonan singled. Madison Turner struck out five batters in the last two innings of play.
Dr. Johnson & Jolley Royal Dragons 5, Alameda Orthpedic & Sports Therapy Green Energy 1
The Royal Dragons captured their third win of the season by outscoring the Green Energy, 5-1. In a fast-start first inning, Bella Vick and Emani Vaughn singled. Excellent pitching from Jemma Thorpe, Vick, and Madison Turner, combining for 11 strikeouts, kept the Green Energy scoreless until the fifth inning. Katie Gee had an excellent showing behind the plate and Rachel Nonan made an excellent fielding play at second base to end the game.
Citizen Canine Black Magic 7, McDonalds Central Demon Dogs 1
The Black Magic defense was on top. In the fourth, a great catch by pitcher Sophia Piamonte, who threw to 1st base to pick off the runner, brought a double play. The Magic bats were alive throughout the game, but in the fourth, the team scored five runs, with a double by Kiley Carter and triple by Alex Martinez. Amy Grimm and Sydney Williams each drove in an RBI.
Bay Area Children’s Theatre Purple Lightning 14, Coast Guard Cutter Aspen Blue Nose Pit Bulls 3
The Purple Lightning defense was strong with several impressive plays. Vivi McKee tossed the ball gently and accurately for an out at second. Casey Stoddard fielded a hard hit ball at shortstop and quickly tossed to first base for an out. Brianna St. Denis pitched a no hitter in the third inning. The Purple Lightning welcomed back teammate Olivia Lebo-Planas, who got an RBI at her first at bat!
Hayward Black Magic 10, Law Offices of Paul Mahler Hot Ice 7
Friday night under the lights, the Black Magic held the Hot Ice until the fifth inning. Meida Tautalatasi kicked off the inning with a solid single and Annie Lynch followed, batting Tautalatasi in with a RBI to get the Hot Ice on the board. A comeback rally followed in the sixth, with Tatiana Kelly roping one to center field scoring an RBI, followed by Bella Sheel and Ariana Verduzco each with a single. But it wasn’t quite enough for the Hot Ice team.
Winzler & Kelly Kryptonite 11, Albany-Berkeley #1 3
The 12/14U Winzler & Kelly Kryptonite turned on the offense for a tough win against Albany-Berkeley, 11-3. Tabitha Zaragoza smashed two triples and had three RBIs as she led the scoring for the Kryptonite. Margaret Pendo added a single and a triple and stole a base as she had her best offensive game. Hailey McKenna had her first hit and first RBI with a booming single to left center. The pitching was anchored by stellar performances by Aliza Newman and Ruby Siltanen.
Linda Avery PhD Flaming Cheetos 17, Albany-Berkeley Balls of Fury 7
The Flames beat the Furies with a balanced offensive attack, coming from behind for the victory. All 13 players got on base, and 10 scored. Skye Seeley had her first hit of the season, Cassie Lumpkin went three-for-three, and both scored twice. Elizabeth Fraser bunted for a hit and stole her way around to score, sparking a four-run rally. Winning pitcher Jackie Smith struck out the side in her inning.
