CASA promotes recycling contest
Here’s how it works: Go to the contest website and take their nine-question recycling quiz. After you’ve completed that, you’ll be invited to pledge your commitment to recycling and allowed to opt-in to Stopwaste’s contest. The organization will conduct random checks of entrants’ bins across Alameda County. Whoever has the fewest recyclables and organics in their trash bin in your neighborhood can win $15 gift cards and be eligible to win up to $500 in cash.
The folks over at Community Action for a Sustainable Alameda (CASA), a local environmental group, are trying to get Island residents involved in the contest.
“CASA wants to see Alameda be the BEST city in the Bay Area in terms of recycling rates, but if you can win a little green for being ‘green’ then, hey, why not,” the organization’s leaders wrote on their website.
Contest rules are different for residents of single-family and multi-family homes, so make sure you check those out when on Stopwaste’s contest site. The contest runs through June.
