Alameda police have arrested three suspects in connection with a fatal shooting Wednesday morning on the Island’s West End.

Police said they arrested a 26-year-old Hercules man, a 22-year-old Alameda man and a 22-year-old Laytonville man, on “numerous charges” including homicide charges. But they didn’t further identify the suspects or offer any details regarding their connection with the victim, who police described as a 32-year-old Oakland man.

The man was found shot to death Wednesday morning on the grounds of the Summer House Apartments, on the 500 block of Buena Vista Avenue. Police said they found the man after getting several calls about a disturbance, at 11:51 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said Wednesday evening that they had detained a man at the scene and were questioning him regarding possible involvement in the killing.

I Live in the neighborhood and was surprised to see this happen. The street is quiet and the people are friendly. This goes to show that no matter where you live, bad things can happen.

I live in these apartments I am not surprised at all. The management is trying to gentrify the apartments by making them look nice but they do not screen who lives here properly. Violence and drugs are a huge part of this apartment complex and to think they even have security guards, what a joke.
