Island sports: Alameda High School softball update

The Hornets took advantage of some timely hitting and five walks from Accalanes pitchers to defeat the Dons, 12-0, on March 15. Alexis Konstantino had a double and an RBI and scored two runs to lead the Hornets offense. Hannah Johnson, Katherine Johnson and Mia Musso each had a hit and an RBI. Aamirah Dastgir had a hit and a scored a run. Lexus Rawlyk scored two runs. Carrie Lee pitched a five inning, three-hit shutout, walking one and striking out three.

Alameda 10, Mission San Jose 0
Katherine Johnson pitched a seven inning complete game five-hit shutout, striking out nine, while walking only one on March 9. The Hornets scored single runs in the first, second, and fifth innings. They scored two runs in the fourth inning and broke it open in the sixth inning when they scored five runs on five hits. The Hornets had four doubles and a triple in their 12 hits. Katherine Johnson also helped offensively by getting three hits, including a double, and an RBI. Megan Averitt, Mia Musso, Drew Jones, and Carrie Lee each had two hits and an RBI. Jessica Ravetti had a bases-loaded double, driving in three runs. Alex Konstantino had a perfect bunt base hit between first and second base and had two RBIs.
