Chabot, to go

Wanna go to a planetarium show without leaving the Island? The Chabot Space & Science Center is coming to town. They’re bringing their portable Starlab planetarium to the Alameda Free Library, and you can catch a 15-minute show, free.

Chabot will be at the Main Library between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Thursday, February 10. In addition to the science center’s inflatable planetarium (which can hold 25 people at a time), they’ll bring four hands-on stations that will allow you to learn about astronomy, astronaut training and space.

Space, in this case, is limited and registration is required. For more information or to register, call 747-7708. Expect to get a call back only if space for the show has run out.

Participants will be given timed tickets when they arrive, and can stay or come back before their 15-minute show starts. Tickets will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis.
