Monday, December 27


SEX OFFENSE: Police are investigating an apparent sex offense involving improper touching of juveniles in a family environment, authorities said.

BURGLARY: A suspect or suspects gained access by unknown means to a locked storage unit at Public Storage on the 1800 block of Webster Street and took items, police said.

SEX OFFENSE: An individual is under suspicion for improper sexual contact with a juvenile female over a six-month period, police said. According to authorities, the incident occurred in a family environment and is not related to any other recent sexual-abuse incidents.

BURGLARY: Police are investigating an alleged burglary on the 1400 block of Sherman Street. An unknown suspect or suspects broke a bedroom window in order to access the residence, authorities said.

COURT ORDER VIOLATION: Police responding to a disturbance call arrested a 54-year-old Alameda man on charges of drunkenness and violating a valid court order, authorities said.


Tuesday, December 28


ROBBERY: Police are searching for a suspect described as a skinny black male in his 20s or 30s who allegedly robbed an individual on the 1500 block of Webster Street. The victim alleges that the man used a walking cane to hit him on his backpack while demanding his wallet.

BURGLARY: A person or persons entered a residence on the 8200 block of Barbers Point Road through an open rear sliding glass door, conducted a messy search of the bedroom, and fled with undetermined items.

GRAND THEFT: An individual reported items missing from a residence on the 1600 block of Everett Street and believed they may have been stolen between November 13 and December 28, possibly by family friends at a party.

BURGLARY: Police discovered a second incidence of burglary at Public Storage on the 1800 block of Webster Street. According to authorities, an unknown suspect or suspects pried the lock off of a storage unit, though it is unknown at this time whether items are missing.

ASSAULT WITH WEAPON: Police said a family altercation turned violent when an adult stabbed a juvenile in the face with needle nose pliers.

THREATS AND INTIMIDATION: Police arrested a 32-year-old Alameda man on charges of threatening to shoot his wife while holding a shotgun at his side. The man faces an additional domestic battery charge after he allegedly pushed the woman to the ground.


Wednesday, December 29


SEX OFFENSE: Police are investigating new evidence regarding an earlier claim that an individual continuously molested a juvenile over the course of five years, authorities said. The incident is unrelated to other recent sexual abuse cases.

SCHOOL BURGLARY ARREST: Police arrested Alexander Lane Colvin, 19, of Alameda on charges of burglary and resisting arrest after an apparent burglary incident at Edison Elementary School on the 2700 block of Buena Vista Avenue. According to authorities, Colvin was seen leaving Edison after an alarm had gone off; Colvin then fled the scene on foot when approached by police. After apprehending Colvin on the 1800 block of Versailles Avenue, officers inspected the school and discovered forced entry to a window and interior shoe prints that matched Colvin’s shoes, police said.

SEXUAL BATTERY: Police are investigating an apparent sexual battery incident in which a suspect allegedly pulled a female victim toward him while shaking hands, held her against him, and grabbed her groin and buttocks over he clothes, authorities said.

BURGLARY: An unknown suspect or suspects entered an unsecured storage unit at Central Self Storage on the 1900 block of Sherman Street and removed property from inside, police said.

BATTERY: An unknown suspect punched another individual for unknown reasons on the 1100 block of Park Avenue, police said.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: A suspect stole money from a cash register at Van Seng Restaurant on the 2500 block of Santa Clara Avenue, authorities said.


Thursday, December 30


FRAUD: Police are investigating an apparent case of fraud in which a suspect defrauded an Alameda resident of money using a sweepstakes scam, authorities said.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: Two suspects entered Rainbow Laundromat on the 1200 block of Lincoln Avenue through the front door, then used a large screwdriver or screwdrivers to open the laundry machines and take coins, police said.

THREATS AND INTIMIDATION: Police said a man threatened to shoot a woman if he ever saw her in public with another man. The suspect owns several firearms, authorities said.

Stolen bicycles: Silver Specialized Hardrock, between noon December 17 and 8:00 a.m. December 21, from the area of Robert Davey Jr. Drive and Packet Landing Road.


Friday, December 31


CREDIT CARD THEFT: Police said an individual stole a credit card from a jacket that was sitting on a chair inside Borders at Alameda Towne Centre.

ROBBERY: Police are investigating an apparent robbery at gunpoint on the property of CVS Pharmacy at 2314 Santa Clara Avenue. The victim claimed that the suspect took $300 from his person in an incident authorities described as possibly relating to a drug deal.

MARIJUANA FOR SALE AND WEAPONS POSSESSION ARREST: Police arrested Deshawn Christy, 18, of Oakland on charges of possessing marijuana prepared for sale and a pair of brass knuckles. Authorities contacted Christy because a vehicle he was in was similar to a given description of a suspect vehicle involved in a robbery. A juvenile who was also in the car faces charges of parole violation and possession of concentrated marijuana, police said.


Saturday, January 1


BATTERY: An intoxicated individual punched a second individual before being subdued, police said.

STRAY BULLET: Police said a resident on the 3100 block or Marina Drive reported a stray bullet striking the roof of his residence.

ROBBERY: Police are investigating an apparent robbery on the 400 block of Buena Vista Avenue. The victims stated they were sitting in a parked vehicle when they were robbed at gunpoint by a white male and a black male, both wearing hoodies. Because the item stolen was $1,200 worth of marijuana, the incident is possibly related to a drug deal, authorities said.

SEX OFFENSE: Police are investigating an individual who is alleged to have fondled two juveniles. The incident is unrelated to earlier reported sex offenses involving juveniles, authorities said.

BURGLARY: An unknown suspect or suspect entered an apartment on the 1400 block of Benton Street through a side window, gathering items and fleeing through a window in an unknown direction, police said.

BURGLARY: An unknown person or persons entered a residence on the 1000 block of Via Aliso through a locked sliding door, removed items and then fled through the front door, police said.

Stolen bicycles: White Gazelle with yellow trim, between 11:30 p.m. December 31 and 1:30 a.m. today, from a pole located on the 1800 block of Park Street.


Sunday, January 2


ASSAULT WITH WEAPON AND CHILD ABUSE ARREST: Police arrested a 47-year-old San Lorenzo man on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, misdemeanor child abuse, and domestic battery following an altercation between two formerly married individuals and a child. According to authorities, the man hit one of the two victims in the head with an unknown item that was possibly a flower pot.

Stolen bicycles: Boys Giant hybrid, between 5 a.m. December 16 and 4:30 p.m. today, from the 2100 block of Otis Drive.
