Frank Bette Center for the Arts is looking to catch "Dogs on Camera."

The Frank Bette Center for the Arts has put out a call for pooch pix to hang in their upcoming “Raining Cats and Dogs” exhibit.

The arts center is inviting shooters to hang out either at the Alameda Dog Park in lower Washington Park or the Alameda Small Dog Park right next to it on the weekend of February 5-6 and then to submit a ready-to-hang photo by February 27.

The photos will be on display either in the center’s main gallery or their satellite gallery at Urban Island Home Furnishings, 1901 Broadway, for the month of March. And the photographer whose piece is judged “best in show” will earn a free, one-year Frank Bette membership.

The arts center is also planning pet-related events for the weekends of the exhibit; check their website for more information on those.

Meanwhile, Frank Bette has put out a call for photo-based artists for its fifth annual “Alameda on Camera” exhibit. The application deadline for participating is February 1, and applications are available here.

For more information, e-mail patricia@frankbettecenter.org or call 521-2655. Frank Bette is at 1601 Paru Street, and their main number is 523-6957.
