VOTE UPDATE: TAM PULLS AHEAD OF JOHNSON
Tam is now in second place in the council race, edging out Johnson by 44 votes, results released by the Alameda County Registrar of Voters on Tuesday evening show. Rob Bonta remains in the top spot, with a more than 1,300-vote lead over Tam.
The top two vote-getters in the council race will earn four-year terms, while the third-place finisher will assume the final two years of Mayor-elect Marie Gilmore’s council term.
The registrar’s office is still counting ballots, and it is not yet clear when that process will be completed.
More to come.
