BURGLARY: Police are searching for the unknown suspect or suspects who forced open the door to a residence on the 2200 block of Lincoln Avenue, conducted a targeted search, and fled the scene with stolen property.

WEAPON ON SCHOOL PROPERTY: A witness reported that another individual brought an ice pick onto the campus of Alameda High School. The suspect then fled in an unknown direction, police said.

Tuesday, October 26

FRAUD: Multiple suspects convinced an Alameda resident to send money via Western Union to claim a non-existent sweepstakes prize, police said.

BURGLARY: Police are investigating an apparent burglary on the 3000 block of Central Avenue in which and unknown person or persons entered a storage shed in a the backyard of a residence, removed items, and fled the scene.

BATTERY: Authorities are investigating an incident in which an individual broke the front passenger window to a car before pulling a woman’s hair and punching her in the face, police said.

Stolen bicycles: Next Avalon, between 10:50 a.m. and 5:20 p.m. October 21, from a bike rack on the 300 block of Park Street.

SCHOOL BURGLARY: Police said an unknown suspect or suspects entered classrooms at Encinal High School by unknown means and removed a laptop and an iPod.

GRAND THEFT: An unknown person or persons stole a trailer from the parking lot of Alameda Marina at 1815 Clement Avenue, police said.

BATTERY: An argument between students on the 400 block of Grand Street escalated into an apparent case of battery when a third individual approached the arguing students, punched and kicked one of them, and then fled before police arrived, authorities said.

BATTERY: Police are investigating an apparent case of battery in which an individual grabbed a victim’s sweater during an argument in the vicinity of High Street and Fernside Boulevard, authorities said.

BATTERY ARREST: Police arrested Alan Carl Schatmeier, 21, Alameda on a charge of battery following Schatmeier’s involvement in a fight, authorities said. Schatmeier faces an additional charge of violating parole.

MARIJUANA FOR SALE ARREST: Police arrested Mario Antima Gonzalez, 21, of Alameda on three charges of parole violation and one charge of marijuana possession after authorities found him to be in possession of 22.94 grams of marijuana, a scale, and cash during a probation search.

Stolen vehicles: White 1994 Acura Integra, between 6 p.m. October 26 and 7 a.m. today, from the zero block of El Capitan Court.

Stolen bicycles: Yellow Pantera 10-speed, between 7 p.m. October 26 and 8 a.m. today, from a bike rack in the parking lot of St. Philip Neri Church on 3108 Van Buren Street.

BAD CHECKS: Police said a suspect tried to pass an altered bill to make a purchase at Walgreens on Otis Street.

BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary on the 3500 block of McSherry Way in which an unknown person or persons stole keys and a vehicle, authorities said.

BURGLARY: An unknown suspect or suspects used a house key to gain entry to a residence on the 1700 block of Central Avenue, police said. The perpetrator then removed the victim’s car keys from a bookshelf and stole the vehicle.

MARIJUANA FOR SALE ARREST: Police arrested John Karl Schreiber, 60, of Alameda after a probation search turned up 430.97 grams of marijuana packaged for sale, authorities said. Schreiber was also in possession of a digital scale, several empty baggies, and U.S. currency totaling $430. Schreiber also faces a charge of possessing Hydrocodone without a prescription and a charge of violating parole.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: Police are investigating an alleged burglary at Diamond Auto Sales on 1926 Park Street in which a person or persons broke into the used car sales business, stole about 16 keys, and used the stolen keys to take two vehicles off the lot, authorities said.

ATTEMPTED TRUCK THEFT: A man broke a window to a semi truck on the 400 block of West Seaplane Lagoon and was caught when a witness spotted him putting air into the left front tire, police said. The suspect told the witness that he had been sent by a friend to fill up the tires. Unable to explain why his friend wanted the tires inflated, the suspect then fled the area, police said.

BURGLARY: An unknown suspect or suspects entered a residence on the 800 block of Pacific Avenue through a rear window, took jewelry and video game consoles, and then fled through a different upper rear window, police said.

EMBEZZLEMENT AND SALE OF COPYRIGHTED GOODS: Police are investigating an apparent case of embezzlement in which an independent contractor took the intellectual property of Marina Village Parkway business Game Ready and sold it on eBay, authorities said.

GRAND THEFT: A suspect grabbed an iPod from another individual’s hands and then fled the scene, police said. According to authorities, the theft occurred in the vicinity of Santa Clara Avenue and Fifth Street.

FRAUD: Police are investigating an alleged case of fraud in which a suspect sent an Alameda resident a fraudulent check and had the victim send funds back to him via MoneyGram.

GRAND THEFT: Police are searching for the person or persons who took a boat trailer from Alameda Marina at 1815 Clement Avenue.

Saturday, October 30

NARCOTICS FOR SALE: Police arrested Remington Antoine Butler, 21, of Alameda after Butler was found to be in possession of rock cocaine for sale, authorities said. Police initially contacted Butler following calls of a suspicious looking male looking into a garage or shed on the 1600 block of Willow Street. Butler faces an additional charge of public intoxication.

BURGLARY: An unknown suspect or suspects gained entry into a storage shed on the 2100 block of Otis Drive by cutting the metal hinge with an unknown object, police said.

Stolen bicycles: Schwinn one-speed and BMX bike unknown make and model, between 11 p.m. October 29 and 9:30 a.m. Saturday, from a side yard on the 1300 block of Grove Street.

Sunday, October 31

BATTERY: An individual punched another person in the face during an argument on the 1500 block of Park Street, police said.

BATTERY ARREST: Teresa Dalitha Bennett, 47, of San Ramon was arrested on two counts of misdemeanor battery following a confrontation on the 1400 block of Webster Street in which Bennett allegedly pushed a woman, causing her to fall and scrape her knees. The victim then put Bennett under citizen’s arrest, police said.

BATTERY: Two individuals physically assaulted a third individual on the 1500 block of Park Street and then fled the scene, police said.

MAIL THEFT: An unknown suspect stole a box of checks from a mailbox on the 1000 block of Santa Clara Avenue, police said.

WALL COLLAPSE: A city retaining wall at 1017 Sherman Street collapsed while children were playing on it, causing minor injuries to the children, police said.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: Police are investigating an alleged burglary at Mariner Square Athletic Club in which a suspect removed items from a locked locker, authorities said.

BURGLARY: Police said an unknown suspect or suspects entered a residence on the 2100 block of Alameda Avenue through an open window, removed items and then fled in an unknown direction.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY: Police are searching for a suspect in an attempted purse snatching in the vicinity of Lincoln Avenue and Park Street. According to authorities, the suspect grabbed the victim’s purse, which was slung over her right shoulder, and pulled it away. The victim was able to chase after the suspect and recover the purse, police said.

Stolen bicycles: Blue beach cruiser, between 3:30 p.m. and 3:50 p.m. October 30, from the 900 block of Shorepoint Court.

Black LeMond Filmore with silver trim, between 11 a.m. October 30 and 3:30 p.m. today, from the 2300 block of Otis Drive.
