In the second fall tournament for the 10U Blaze team they went out firing, with both offense and defense against Magnum Force. In the pool play portion of the tournament on Saturday, the Blaze team offense was on fire, with a first inning home run by Ruby Siltanen, two RBIs by Lizzy Avery and then another ground out sacrifice by Mira Piamonte to drive in Bella Vick for an RBI.

The next two innings brought in five runs each, with singles by Lily Wilmot, Isabella Sheel, Alanna Norman, Eileen Rhatigan and a double by Ruby Siltanen. Pitcher Mikayla Wong and the Blaze defense were outstanding, with no batters on base for two of the four innings and only three total runs coming in. The game saw a great attempted steal by the Magnum Force runner at second, but third baseman Alexis Esparza’s quick defense tagged the runner out. The Blaze took the first game 13-3 over Magnum Force.

In game two of the pool play against the Santa Rosa Hackers, the Blaze stumbled a bit with errors giving the Hackers a 5-3 lead in the bottom of the second inning. The Blaze offense took over in the top of the third, with seven of the nine Blaze batters scoring. Bella Vick combined two RBIs with a triple. Aggressive base running with 15 stolen bases combined in the third inning left the Blaze with a lead of 10-5. Mira Piamonte scored the final run for the Blaze with a single and three stolen bases. The Hackers would not be able to score again due to fantastic pitcher Ruby Siltanen, who knocked out three batters in the final inning to call the game at 11-5. The Blaze would go into Sunday as the first place seed.

The Blaze would face the Hackers again in the championship game on Sunday morning, this time with pitcher Lily Wilmot. There was no contest, as Wilmot’s pitching and Blaze defense would hold the Hackers to only one run. Seven strikeouts by Wilmot and five defensive plays combined for an outstanding game for the Blaze team. Ruby Siltanen drove in three RBIs, Bella Vick had a triple, Savannah Mesterhazy rung a double and a home run from Victoria Avery closed out the game in the fourth inning. The Blaze won the championship game, 13-1.
