Auto buffs have two reasons to be happy this weekend: Alameda will be hosting a pair of car shows.
Saturday brings Park Street’s 17th Annual Classic Car Show, and that will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The show will feature more than 400 cars – classics, hot rods, antique muscle cars, roadsters and vintage fire trucks – plus live entertainment and prizes. (And if you want to ride your bike over, they’ll even have valet bike parking over at Wienerschnitzel.)
Then on Sunday, the Alfa Romeo Association of California hosts its All Italian Car and Motorcycle Show. The 23rd annual show, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lincoln Middle School, 1250 Fernside Boulevard, is a benefit for Special Olympics. All Italian cars and motorcycles – from “a concours-ready Ferrari or a grocery-fetching FIAT wagon, new Ducati Multistrada or campus-worn Vespa” are all welcome.
Admission for non-exhibitors is $5, free for kids under 18, and exhibitors are free. Pre-registration is not required. Italian food and drink will be available too.
