The Oakland Tribune’s Paul T. Rosynsky has been covering the trial of Dionisio Molina, who ran down 78-year-old George Marceline with his Jeep Cherokee on July 5, 2008 as he took his daily walk on Shoreline Drive. Now, Rosynsky reports, a jury is set to decide whether Molina murdered Marceline in a fit of rage or whether, as his defense attorney asserts, the killing was a “sleep driving” accident.

Rosynsky’s got the full story here.

  • Jon Spangler says:

I find it difficult to imagine how Molina could have been awake enough to break a glass oven door with a cast iron frying pan before he left his house, remember specific details before, during, and after killing George Marceline, and not run off of the recreational path that was not intended for vehicles in the first place if he had been “sleep-driving.”

I suppose it is possible, but believing the defense attorney’s explanation strains my credulity..
