BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary on the 200 block of Corpus Christi Road. An unknown person or persons removed items valued at $16,240 from a residence, police said.

BURGLARY: An unknown suspect or suspects entered the Ballena Bay Yacht Club between 10:30 p.m. August 15 and 8 a.m. today and stole money from a cash register as well as a bottle of Jameson whiskey from the bar, police said.

BURGLARY: Police are searching for the person or persons who smashed a rear window and entered a residence on the 400 block of Grand Street, stealing jewelry valued at $600.

VANDALISM: An unknown suspect or suspects damaged about 30 community street lamps within the West End’s Esperanza Housing Complex, police said.

BURGLARY: Police are investigating an alleged burglary on the 300 block of Lina Avenue in which an unknown person or persons entered a building by unknown means and stole a mirror.

Stolen vehicles: Silver 2001 Ford Mustang, between 10 p.m. August 15 and 1:50 a.m. today, from a parking lot on the 2400 block of Central Avenue.

Stolen bicycles: Free Spirit mountain bike, between 8 p.m. August 15 and noon today, from the 2000 block of San Jose Avenue.

MISAPPROPRIATION OF LOST PROPERTY ARREST: Police arrested Albany resident Tobie Ann Charles for possession of an Electronic Benefit Transfer card that didn’t belong to her after pulling Charles over for bicycling without a bike lamp.

COUNTERFEIT MONEY: A counterfeit $100 bill has been found on the 2500 block of Blanding Avenue, police said. An employee of Nob Hill Gas reported the bill, which is the second such bill found at Nob Hill Foods in a week.

EMBEZZLEMENT: Police are investigating a former bookkeeper at John Beery Yachts for embezzlement, authorities said. The employee is suspected of paying her personal bills with company bank accounts between January 2004 and July 29 of this year.

Stolen vehicles: Black 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle, between 8:30 p.m. August 16 and 10:30 a.m. today, from the 1500 block of Mozart Street.

Gray 2004 Toyota COA, between 9 p.m. August 16 and 5 p.m. today, from the 2100 block of Santa Clara Avenue.

GRAND THEFT: Police are investigating a female suspect who allegedly removed a debit card from a purse on the 2200 block of San Antonio Avenue and used the card to make unauthorized purchases totaling $559.16.

BURGLARY: An unknown suspect or suspects unlocked the rear gate to a backyard on the 1100 block of Pearl Street, entered an unlocked, detached office and stole a laptop and iPod valued at $1,200, police said.

SENIOR ABUSE: Police are investigating an alleged Nigerian e-mail scam that authorities said cost an elderly man an unknown amount of money dating back to as early as 2007. The man has been sending money to Nigeria in connection with the scam, police said.

BURGLARY: An unknown suspect or suspects entered a residence on the 2700 block of Washington Street but fled without taking any items, police said.

Thursday, August 19

BURGLARY: Police are investigating the alleged theft of $2,000 worth of tools belonging to Pacific Gas and Electric from an employee’s company truck. The driver parked the truck, containing an unlocked storage bin containing the tools, on the 400 block of Dublin Way overnight, police said.

FRAUD: An Alameda man has been the victim of an apparent series of Internet frauds, police said. According to authorities, the man first wired money to a female suspect in South Africa he had met online. The victim later wired money to the United Kingdom after a second, unknown suspect hacked his friend’s email and wrote him asking for emergency funds, police said.

BURGLARY: Police are investigating an apparent burglary on the 700 block of Pacific Avenue.

BURGLARY: An unknown person or persons entered a residence on the 1800 block of Wood Street and piled up items for removal but left without taking anything, police said.

BURGLARY: Police are searching for the suspect or suspects involved in a burglary on the 1400 block of Fifth Street. A digital camera is missing after the apparent break-in, police said.

BATTERY WITH INJURY ARREST: Police arrested Reynaldo Paderaz Marte, 26, of Alameda for aggravated battery after Marte allegedly punched another man in the head and knocked him out on the 2100 block of Pacific Avenue.

Stolen bicycles: Cannondale CAAD3 road bike, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., from the 1300 block of South Loop Road.

Friday, August 20

FORGERY ARREST: Police arrested Robert Koichi Maynard, 26, of San Leandro, for forgery after Maynard came to the police station at an officer’s request. Maynard, who had outstanding warrants for forgery and transportation or sale of a controlled substance, was found to have a counterfeit $100 in his wallet at the time of his booking for the older offenses, police said.

FRAUD: An Alameda man has been the victim of a forgery in which an unknown suspect or suspects forged checks totaling $6,900.25 on his account, police said.

BATTERY: Police are investigating an apparent battery in which a man pushed another man to the floor in the 2900 block of Via Bahia and punched him three to four times.

BURGLARY: An unknown person or persons entered the garage of an apartment complex on the 2100 block of Otis Drive, cut a storage lock, and stole $600 worth of collectible beer steins, mugs, and plates, police said.

Stolen vehicles: Red/black 2007 Suzuki motorcycle, between 4 p.m. August 19 and 8:54 a.m. today, from the 1400 block of Caroline Street.

ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON: Police are investigating an alleged assault on the 900 block of Shorepoint Court in which a man allegedly chased and hit another individual with a frying pan, authorities said.

Sunday, August 22

*

ARSON: Police are investigating an apparent arson on the 3000 block of Main Street. An unknown suspect or suspects set fire to a garbage can between 12:01 a.m. and 2:38 a.m., causing damage to city-owned property, police said.

BURGLARY: An unknown person or persons entered a storage property near the U.S.S. Hornet Museum and broke into two storage containers, police said. According to authorities, it is the most recent in a string of break-ins at storage properties in the vicinity of the Hornet.

GRAND THEFT: Police are investigating an apparent theft on the 1500 block of Park Street. An unknown suspect stole a purse from a table and fled, police said.

Stolen vehicles: Gray 1992 Honda Civic, between 11 p.m. August 21 and 2:15 a.m. today, from the 2500 block of Blanding Avenue.

Black 1997 Honda Civic, between 11 a.m. August 21 and 9 a.m. today, from the vicinity of Buena Vista Avenue and Poggi Street.

Stolen bicycles: Black Specialized Globe Carmel, between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., from the 1600 block of Park Street.

Bianchi and Novara Randonee bicycles, between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m., from a bike rack attached to a vehicle on the 10 block of Lawrence Road.

Dark violet cruiser unknown make and model, between 10 p.m. August 19 and 8 a.m. August 20, from the 800 block of Maitland Drive.
