BURGLARY: Police are investigating the theft of securities and .375 pounds of medical marijuana from a residence on the 2000 block of Otis Drive. The missing items are valued at $150, police said.
BURGLARY: An unknown person or persons gained entry by unknown means to Atlantic Avenue business Dynamic Graphics and stole two laptops worth $3,000, police said. The alleged burglary of the company, located on the 1000 block of Atlantic, occurred between August 6 and today.
GRAND THEFT: Police are investigating an alleged jewelry theft from a residence on the 800 block of Walnut Street. According to authorities, the victim recently discovered the theft and believes a house guest may have taken the jewelry sometime between December 2009 and today.
FAILURE TO REGISTER AS A SEX OFFENDER ARREST: Police arrested Ray Lee Williams, 48, of Oakland, on charges of failing to register as a sex offender after Williams was reported as a suspicious person outside of Nob Hill Foods at 2631 Blanding Avenue. A records check revealed that Williams had last registered in Oakland in December 2008, police said. According to authorities, Williams also had an outstanding warrant for petty theft with a prior offense.
Stolen bicycle: Black Giant Suede, between 6 p.m. August 8 and 7:30 a.m. today, from the 800 block of Union Street.
Tuesday August 10
BURGLARY: An unknown suspect or suspects entered a residence on the 1300 block of Caroline Street and stole jewelry of an unknown value, police said.
GRAND THEFT: Police are investigating the alleged theft of a cell phone following an apparent argument between the phone’s owner and a 25-year-old white male who is suspected of taking the phone and fleeing. The incident occurred on the 1200 block of Santa Clara Avenue, police said.
VIOLATION OF RESTRAINING ORDER: Police arrested a 25-year-old man for entering his mother’s residence and refusing to leave. According to authorities, the mother has a restraining order against her son. The man also had an outstanding warrant for a vehicular offense, police said.
Stolen vehicle: Beige 1998 Toyota Corolla, between 5 p.m. August 9 and 7 a.m. today, from the 3000 block of Triumph Drive.
Wednesday August 11
THEFT ARREST: Police arrested 44-year-old Samuel Brooks Jr., address unknown, for matching the description of the suspect in a theft from Walgreens on Webster Street. Brooks was identified as the suspect during in an in-field lineup and was also the found to have outstanding warrants for charges of burglary, resisting arrest, and possession of a controlled substance.
BURGLARY: An unknown person or persons used bolt cutters to cut locks on two storage containers on the 100 block of Hornet Avenue, police said. Though there is evidence that the suspect or suspects conducted a “neat search” of the containers, no loss has yet been determined, authorities said.
ANIMAL BITE: Police are investigating an animal bite at Taylor Avenue and Eighth Street. According to authorities, a woman was bitten on the leg by an unknown, dark-colored animal she believed was not domestic. The victim stated that the barking of the two dogs she had been walking led her to believe that the animal was not a domesticated dog or cat, police said.
BURGLARY: An unknown suspect or suspects entered a residence on the 1000 block of Pearl Street and stole items of unknown value while the victim was out of town, police said.
GRAND THEFT: Police are investigating the apparent theft of $9,000 in currency from a residence on the 1300 block of Pearl Street. According to authorities, a person or persons stole the 90 $100 bills between 10:15 a.m. and 11 a.m. on July 5. There is no indication as to how the suspect or suspects gained access to the money, police said.
FRAUD: A suspect twice used fraudulent checks to purchase items from Lucky supermarket at 815 Marina Village Parkway, police said.
ASSAULT WITH DEADLY WEAPON ARREST: Police arrested Leroy Shermane Hunter, 27, of San Pablo, on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after Hunter allegedly threw a rock at another individual following an argument. Hunter allegedly threatened the same individual with a fork, authorities said. Police also arrested Lashunda Frenchell Cook, 25, of San Pablo, on a charge of making criminal threats during the argument.
CRIMINAL THREATS: Police are investigating an incident in which a suspect threatened to kill another individual at Lucky 13 bar at 1301 Park Street, authorities said.
Thursday, August 12
GRAND THEFT FROM VEHICLE: Police are investigating a vehicle break-in at 2201 Southshore Center. The unknown suspect or suspects removed items valued at $2,800 from the car, police said.
BURGLARY: An unknown person or persons accessed the golf cart barn at the Chuck Corica Golf Complex and drove a cart through the locked gates, fleeing with an unknown number of golf carts, police said.
Stolen vehicle: Light Blue 1991 Toyota Camry, between 8 p.m. August 11 and 9 a.m. today, from the 2400 block of Shoreline Drive.
Stolen bicycle: Blue/silver Schwinn Jaguar, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., from the 400 block of Central Avenue.
Friday, August 13
GRAND THEFT ARREST: Police arrested San Leandro resident Guillermo Daniel Pasillas, 25, on a grand theft charge after he was positively identified as the person who took a purse from Scobies Sports Bar and Grill on the 2400 block of Central Avenue.
Stolen vehicle: 1991 turquoise Acura Integra, between 10 p.m. August 12 and 6:30 a.m. today, from the 1800 block of Clinton Avenue.
Saturday, August 14
ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON AND FALSE IMPRISONMENT ARREST: Police arrested Frederick Douglas Turner, 36, of Oakland, after Turner allegedly lunged at and cut a victim with a knife at the Shamrock Irish Pub on Webster Street. Turner had allegedly blocked the only doorway and exit of the bar during closing time, preventing anyone from leaving, police said, and cut the victim during an altercation in the doorway.
Sunday, August 15
STOLEN SCOOTER: Police are investigating the theft and recovery of a 2008 Lance GS-R 150 moped that went missing from a carport on the 300 block of Stardust Place and was then discovered partially concealed in bushes on the 2300 block of Moonlight Terrace.
BATTERY ARREST: Police arrested Amber Leigh Kalpin, 34, of Alameda, on a charge of battery after Kalpin allegedly threw a plastic doghouse at another woman on the 2100 block of San Jose Avenue. The victim apparently placed Kalpin under arrest before contacting authorities, police said.
BURGLARY: An unknown person or persons entered a residence on the 1000 block of Oak Street and removed a game console valued at $300, police said.
Stolen vehicles: Gray 2000 Chrysler 300, between 12:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., near the intersection of Park Street and San Antonio Avenue.
Red 1990 Honda Civic, between 6 p.m. August 13 and 8 p.m. August 15, from the 400 block of Lincoln Avenue.
