LICENSE PLATE THEFT: Police are investigating the theft of license plates from the zero block of Mastick Court. The victim reported that an unknown person or persons had at some point removed his license plates and replaced them with plates that did not belong to him, police said. A records check revealed that the victim’s license plates had been collected as evidence by California Highway Patrol in late June.
BURGLARY: A person or persons forced open a Plexiglas window at Oil Changers at 2425 Lincoln Avenue and removed $150 from a locked safe, police said.
BURGLARY ARRESTS: Police arrested Oakland resident Kevin Gaston Jr., 19, and a 17-year-old juvenile on burglary charges after the two were allegedly discovered attempting to steal items from a residence on the 2000 block of Versailles Avenue. A third suspect, Monte Willis, of Sacramento, age not given, attempted to flee from authorities and led police on a foot chase that ended on the 3000 block of Marina Drive, police said.
BURGLARY: Police are investigating an apparent burglary on the 1100 block on Union Street. According to authorities, an unknown suspect or suspects entered the residence through an open bathroom window and took computers, cameras and watches valued at $1,995.
Tuesday, August 3
FORGERY ARREST: Police arrested Nadine Kaui Rodriguez, 42, of Alameda, after she allegedly attempted to pay for a gift card at Safeway with counterfeit $20 bills. Rodriguez was detained by a retired police officer and store security, police said.
PETTY THEFT: Police are investigating the theft of a payroll check from a victim’s residence on the 800 block of Park Street. The check was then passed fraudulently at an unknown location, police said.
Wednesday, August 4
GRAND THEFT ARREST: Police arrested Alameda resident Margarita Araceley Mendoza, 22, on charges of grand theft and burglary relating to a purse stolen from the Shamrock Bar on July 23. Mendoza was seen carrying a purse similar to the missing item, leading the victim’s boyfriend to alert the police. The victim positively identified the purse as the one stolen from a bar bathroom, police said.
FRAUD: Police are investigating an apparent case of fraud at the AM/PM gas station at 1260 Park Street. According to authorities, a 29-year-old Asian male paid for gas with a counterfeit $100 bill on August 3. When the man then returned to the store the next day, store personnel recognized him and alerted authorities, police said.
BURGLARY: An unknown person or persons gained access to a basement of a residence on the 3300 block of Fernside Boulevard and stole a black Electra Townie bicycle valued at $450, police said.
BURGLARY: An unknown suspect or suspect gained access to the knox box and key of a shipping container on the 600 block of West Hornet Avenue and removed business papers, police said. The container, near Building 551 at Alameda Point, is used by the business owner for storing motorcycles, helmets, riding gear and paperwork relating to the business, police said.
GRAND THEFT: Police are investigating the alleged theft of cash and an iPod from two victims on the 1500 block of Chestnut Street.

CRIMINAL THREATS: Police arrested an Oakland man for threatening the life of a female Alameda resident in text messages and phone calls, police said.
Friday, August 6
BURGLARY: Police are investigating an alleged burglary of a residence on the 1300 block of Bay Street. An unknown suspect or suspects used a sliding door in the rear of the residence to enter and steal a laptop and video game from the bedroom, bypassing other valuables, police said.
Saturday, August 7
BURGLARY ARREST: Police arrested Porsche Briana Miller, 19, of Hayward and Ebony Edmondson, age and address not given, on suspicion of theft from a CVS store. The two were stopped on the 1700 block of Park Street for matching the description of the suspects who had been seen stealing alcohol from the store. Miller was in possession of alcohol when contacted, police said.
FORGERY: Police arrested Daysa Adean Wiliams, 20, of Alameda, after she allegedly passed an altered money order not issued to her. Williams allegedly attempted to cash the money order at Cash 1 at 650 Central Avenue.
BURGLARY: Police are investigating an apparent burglary on the 400 block of Park Street. According to authorities, an unknown suspect or suspects stole computer equipment of an unknown value and also cut through a wall to enter an office.
Stolen bicycles: Schwinn Varsity with bright yellow handlebars and accents, between 9:20 a.m. and 9:23 a.m., from the 2500 block of Blanding Avenue.
Schwinn Continental, between 11:30 a.m. and 11:35 a.m., outside Nob Hill Foods at 2431 Blanding Avenue.
Stolen vehicles: White 2001 Mazda Millenia, between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., in front of Lee’s Donuts at 660 Central Avenue.
Sunday, August 8
BURGLARY: An unknown person or persons entered a residence on the 1600 block of Ninth Street through an unsecure porch window and removed a laptop, watches, and cuff links valued at $6,400, police said.
BURGLARY: Police are investigating an alleged burglary on the 2300 block of Rainbow Court. An unknown suspect or suspects stole items valued at $2,994 from the location, police said.
BURGLARY ARREST: Police arrested Alameda resident Juan Carlos Neri, 18, on suspicion of burglary after he was discovered inside the Alameda High School gym around midnight, authorities said. Responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the school parking lot, officers found Neri in the gym and in possession of stolen school keys, police said.
Stolen vehicles: Green 1997 Honda Odyssey, between 8 p.m. August 7 and 12:01 a.m. August 8, from the 1100 block of Regent Street.
