On Monday we wrote about a big house fire on the 1600 block of Clinton Avenue that burned a family our of their home and destroyed most of their possessions. Well, today we have an update on efforts that one of the family’s neighbors and others have undertaken and how you can help.

Clinton Avenue resident Anousheh Mortazavi is collecting gift cards, clothing and supplies for the family. The list of things she’s collecting includes the following:

*School supplies;
*Clothes for a 10-year-old boy who attends St. Joseph Elementary School (size 14 pants, large shirts);
*Clothes for twin 9-year-old girls at Otis Elementary School (size 10-12 pants, large shirts);
*4-month-old baby girl clothes;
*Size 6/small women’s clothes;
*Size extra-large/tall men’s clothes;
*Huggies diapers size 15 pounds;
*Baby bottles
*Gift cards to Alameda businesses to let mom pick out necessary supplies (i.e. baby formula)

For drop-off information, contact Mortazavi at 864-2015 or e-mail her at Mortazavi2020@yahoo.com. You can also drop off items at Tot Tank, 1413 Park Street, during their business hours, which are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
