Call to Alameda hotel grounds flight at SFO
The Bay Citizen is reporting that a call to an Alameda hotel grounded a New York-bound flight at San Francisco International Airport today.
A front desk clerk at the Hampton Inn and Suites got a call from an unidentified male saying he planned to hijack American Airlines flight 24 shortly after 9 a.m. today, the online news site reported. Alameda police got a call about the incident at 9:09 a.m. and forwarded the information to federal authorities, they said.
Federal authorities ultimately deemed the threat not credible, they said.
