Bus breakdown snarls Tuesday traffic
Thanks to Richard Bangert for sending in this photo of the backup at the Posey Tube on Tuesday morning, which was caused by a bus breakdown. AC Transit spokesman Clarence Johnson said that at 9 a.m. Tuesday, the driver heard something “pop” under the bus and discovered a fluid leak. A second bus got stuck on a curb as it tried to steer around the first bus. Johnson said the buses were cleared by 9:46 a.m. (about the time this photo was shot) and that passengers on the first bus were placed on another one. Johnson said Alameda police and fire and hazmat crews responded to the incident.
