Park Street. Art & Wine Faire. This weekend.
This weekend brings us many fun things to do on the Island, notably the 26th annual Park Street Art & Wine Faire. That’ll take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 24 and 25, along Park Street.
The Faire will offer its customary array of art and craft booths; food, wine, mimosas and beer; a kids’ area with pony rides and a petting zoo; shuttle trolley rides; and music stages bookending the event. And if you ride your bike, the folks at BikeAlameda will park it, free, at Wienerschnitzel, 1529 Park Street.
The event is free and open to the public, and more information – including a music schedule – is available on the Park Street Business Association’s website.
Oh, and if you’re looking for something to do pre-Faire on Sunday … something pancake-y and fundraiser-esque … check out the Alameda Firefighters‘ 14th annual Pancake Breakfast, a fundraiser for the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation. From 9 a.m. to noon at Fire Station One at Park and Encinal, your friendly firefighters and public officials will dish out pancakes, sausages, coffee, fruit and more.
Admission is $8 (free for kids under 5), and the festivities will include a raffle and the chance to check out the department’s vehicles, including a vintage, restored fire engine.
