Calling all hipsters: Brand Nubian’s Sadat X at Dragon Rouge today

The folks over at Dragon Rouge have cooked up an interesting little event for tonight: They’re having a listening party and meet and greet with Sadat X of the 1990s hip hop act Brand Nubian. The listening party starts at 10 p.m., and if you attend, you could end up in Sadat X’s next video.
Dan Nguyen, the Vietnamese bistro’s promotions manager, said he has a friend who knows Sadat X’s manager. He said the rapper was flying into Oakland International Airport for a show in Oakland on Saturday, “and this is kind of on the way.”
The restaurant will play cuts from Sadat X’s new album, “Wild Cowboys 2,” and Nguyen’s hoping he can persuade the New Rochelle, NY-based rapper – whose other life credits include a full-time stint as a special education teacher – to perform a tune, too.
Meanwhile, the restaurant will offer a special, three-course beef menu for $25, the purchase of which Nguyen said will “guarantee a seat.”
“I think it’s going to be really crowded,” Nguyen said.
