Monday, May 24

SEX OFFENSE ARREST: Police arrested Makan Gharremani, 42, of Alameda, on a warrant for a charge of committing a lewd and lascivious act with a child under the age of 14. Police arrested Gharremani at his apartment at 3:30 p.m. He was being held in Glenn Dyer Jail in Oakland on $385,000 bail.

BURGLARY ARREST: Police arrested Jody Allen Curtis, 50, of Berkeley and Robert Charles Agualo, 53, of Emeryville on burglary and other charges. Police said they found the pair dismantling electric components in an abandoned building on Alameda Point. The men were found to be in possession of wire cutters, wrenches and pliers. They were arrested at 4:10 a.m.

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, broke into a company on the 1400 block of Harbor Bay Parkway and took a computer tower and laptop. Police said the alleged theft occurred sometime between 5 p.m. May 20 and 11 a.m. May 22. Police believe the theft is connected to a second report of two laptops taken from the same company. Police believe that alleged theft occurred sometime between 5:30 p.m. May 21 and 8:30 a.m. today.

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, broke into a home on the 1800 block of Poggi Street and took game systems and a laptop computer valued at $1,949. Police said that sometime between 8:31 a.m. and 3 p.m., someone forced open a kitchen window, entered and took the items.

Stolen bicycles: Schwinn Beach Cruiser, between noon May 21 and 8 a.m. May 24, from the 1500 bock of Benton Street.

Tuesday, May 25

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, broke into a home on the 400 block of Haight Avenue and took a computer and television valued at $1,805. Police said the victim’s car and keys are also missing. Police said that sometime between noon and 1:30 p.m. on May 18, the suspect or suspects entered the home through an open back window, took the items and left. The car is described as a red 2008 Toyota Corolla four-door.

GRAND THEFT: Police said someone stole tools worth $2,636 from a truck parked on the 1800 block of Bay Street. Police said that the tools went missing sometime between 10 p.m. May 24 and 7:50 a.m. today.

Stolen autos: Silver 1991 Toyota Camry four-door, between 7:30 p.m. May 24 and 6:15 a.m. today, from the 300 block of Lincoln Avenue.

White 1984 E250 cargo van, between 6:30 p.m. May 24 and 9:30 a.m. today, from the 2200 block of San Jose Avenue.

Wednesday, May 26

BATTERY: Police are investigating an alleged battery at a school. Police said that the alleged victim, whose age was not listed, told his grandmother that a teacher “popped” him on the back of his neck with her hand on the playground during recess. Police said the incident was alleged to have occurred at 11 a.m. They did not identify the school where the incident was alleged to have taken place.

BURGLARY: Police arrested John Anthony Nicacio, 18, no address listed, on a burglary charge. Police said Nicacio was observed going through the trunk of a vehicle parked in a lot on Mecartney Road that didn’t belong to him. He was arrested at 4:15 p.m. and booked into Alameda City Jail.

Stolen autos: Silver 1972 Chevrolet Impala, between 2 a.m. and 11:53 a.m., from the 1700 block of Central Avenue.

GRAND THEFT: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, broke into a vehicle parked on the 300 block of Tideway Drive and took hair cutting tools valued at $3,055. Police said the alleged crime occurred sometime between 8 p.m. May 26 and 8 a.m. today.

GRAND THEFT: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, broke into a vehicle parked on the 200 block of Haight Avenue and took paramedic supplies valued at $4,810. Police said the alleged crime occurred sometime between 7 p.m. May 26 and 9 a.m. today.

Stolen autos: Burgundy 1987 Toyota Corrolla, between 11:04 p.m. May 27 and 1:01 a.m. today, from the 1800 block of Poggi Street.

Friday, May 28

BURGLARY: Police are investigating an alleged burglary at the Islamic Center of Alameda on Santa Clara Avenue. Police said that sometime between 10:30 p.m. Thursday and 4:55 a.m. Wednesday, someone pried open the center’s window, ransacked the center and took an unknown amount of money from two donation boxes and fled.

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, broke into a home on the 1400 block of Chestnut Street and took three laptops and jewelry valued at $10,000. Police said that sometime between 10 a.m. and 4:10 p.m., someone kicked in the rear door of the home, conducted a selective search, took the items and fled.

Stolen bicycles: Black Trek Navigator women’s mountain bike, between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m., from the 2300 block of South Shore Center.

Saturday, May 29

BURGLARY ARREST: Police arrested Andrew Pierre Avaloz, 29, of Oakland on a warrant containing burglary and petty theft charges. Police said they arrested Avaloz at 7:43 a.m. on the 1900 block of Clement Avenue and transported him to Alameda City Jail.

BATTERY ARREST: Police arrested David Anthony Lopes, 57, of Alameda on a warrant containing charges of spousal battery and being under the influence of a controlled substance. Police said they arrested Lopes at 10:12 a.m. on the corner of Oak Street and Pacific Avenue.

Stolen bicycles: Specialized hybrid mountain bike, between 2:15 p.m and 2:17 p.m., from the 2300 block of Otis Drive.

White 2010 Motobelan 29er mountain bike and second bicycle, unknown make and model, between 9 p.m. May 26 and 1 a.m. today, from the 2000 block of Franciscan Way.

Black and green Specialized Expedition mountain bike between 6:40 p.m. and 7:14 p.m., from the 600 block of Willow Street.

Stolen autos: White 1992 Honda Accord two-door, between 11:20 p.m. and 11:24 p.m., from the 2900 block of Windsor Drive.

Sunday, May 30

BATTERY: Police are looking for the person who, they said, punched someone in the mouth. Police said the alleged battery occurred sometime between 1:50 a.m. and 2 a.m. on the corner of Park Street and Santa Clara Avenue.

ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON ARREST: Police arrested Lorenzo Watson, 57, of Oakland on a warrant containing an assault with a deadly weapon charge. Police arrested Watson at 8:30 a.m. on the 1300 block of Park Street and transported him to North County Jail in Oakland.

BATTERY ARREST: Police arrested Loraina Andrea Nunes, 24, of Alameda, on a warrant containing charges of battery of a peace officer and petty theft. Police arrested Nunes at 9:20 a.m. at her home and transported her to North County Jail in Oakland.
