Monday, May 17

GRAND THEFT: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, took a 30-foot ladder from the rear of an apartment building on the 2000 block of San Jose Avenue. Police said the ladder, which they valued at $500, went missing sometime between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. May 14.

ARREST: Police arrested Jaime Barajas, 39, of Oakland on charges of carrying a concealed weapon and exhibiting a weapon. Police said that they responded to an anonymous report of a male matching Barajas’ description trying to open vehicle doors near the 1600 block of Paru Street and that a search of Barajas revealed an unsheathed, fixed-blade knife in his pants pocket. He also had a warrant out for his arrest. He was arrested at 7:14 p.m.

Stolen bicycles: Mint green 2008 Bianchi Coast to Coast road bike, between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. May 16, from the 2200 block of Chipman Street.

Tuesday, May 18

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person who, they said, broke into a business on the 500 block of Wind River Way and stole laptop computers valued at $6,300. Police said that sometime between 3:02 a.m. and 3:17 a.m., the suspect broke a window on the north side of the building and entered, taking the laptops from their docking stations and fleeing out the north doors. Police described the  suspect as a black male, age 30, wearing a green coat with a hood and blue jeans.

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, broke into a business on the 900 block of Atlantic Avenue and stole a laptop computer. Police said that sometime between 6:30 p.m. May 17 and 6:30 am. today, the suspect or suspects broke a window at the business, took the computer and fled.

Stolen autos: Gray 1988 Nissan pickup truck, between 10 p.m. May 17 and 5:50 a.m. today, from the 300 block of Tideway Drive.

Black and silver 2004 Harley Roadglide, between 9:30 a.m. and 11:10 a.m., from the 700 block of Buena Vista Avenue.

Wednesday, May 19

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, broke into a storage shed on West Oriskaney Avenue and took a computer, stereo and vinyl records valued at $2,500. Police said the alleged burglary took place sometime between noon on April 25 and 11 a.m. today.

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, broke into a residence on the 100 block of Brush Street and took a television and video game valued at $728. Police said the alleged burglary occurred sometime between 8 a.m. May 18 and 1 p.m. today. They said the victim’s dog, which had been in the back yard, is missing.

FRAUD: People are looking for the person who, they said, defrauded an elderly couple out of $10,150. Police said that on May 17, one of the victims got a phone call from someone claiming to be her grandson who said he had a bad cold and that he had been involved in a DUI collision in Georgia. He said he needed money, which the victims provided.

Stolen bicycles: Two bicycles, unknown make and model, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. May 18, from the 500 block of Pacific Avenue.

Blue Cannon mountain bike, between 5 p.m. May 11 and 9:47 a.m. May 12, from the 1100 block of Pacific Marina.

Thursday, May 20

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, broke into a storage yard and utility trailer on the 2300 block of Clement Avenue but left without taking anything. Police said the alleged break-in occurred sometime between 9 p.m. May 19 and 6:45 a.m. today.

Friday, May 21

UNLAWFUL SEX ARREST: Police arrested Emmanuel Isak, 24, of Alameda on a warrant for charges of having sex with a minor and pandering. Police said they spotted Isak as a car he was riding in went by them and that they took him into custody without incident. Police said they arrested Isak at 2:40 p.m. on the 400 block of Marshall Way and booked him at Alameda City Jail.

Saturday, May 22

ROBBERY: Police are looking for suspects in a beating and robbery. Police said that at 10 p.m. May 21, three suspects beat a victim on the 800 block of Lincoln Avenue and took his cash, cell phone, identification and credit cards. Police said the victim was walking home from Longfellow Park when a car containing the suspects pulled up next to him. The suspects are described only as three black males in their 20s, with at least one wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt.

Stolen bicycles: Blue Huffy three-wheel bicycle, between 10:15 a.m. an 10:50 a.m., from the 1500 block of Morton Street.

Sunday, May 23

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, broke into an apartment on the 300 block of Cypress Street and took a laptop, camera and jewelry valued at $2,625. Police said that sometime between 4:45 p.m. and 5:45 p.m., the suspect or suspects broke in by smashing a bathroom window, and that they then took the items and fled.
