Monday, April 26

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, broke into a home on the 1700 block of Lincoln Avenue and stole cash, guns and a ham radio valued at $1,580. Police said that sometime between 5 a.m. and 5:15 p.m., the suspect or suspects entered the home through an unlocked window, took the cash and items and left.

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, broke into an apartment on the 400 block of Willie Stargell Avenue and stole a just-purchased purse and shirt valued at $248. Police said that sometime between 8:10 a.m. and 5:45 p.m., someone entered the apartment through an unlocked front door, took the items from the shopping bag they were sitting in and fled.

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, broke into an apartment on the 300 block of Kittyhawk Road and took a television, laptop and camera valued at $5,000. Police said that sometime between 7 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., the suspect or suspects pried open the front door of the victim’s apartment, took the items and fled.

Stolen autos: Green 1991 Toyota 4Runner, between noon April 25 and 9 a.m. today, from the 1800 block of Alameda Avenue.

Stolen bicycles: Blue Roadmaster mountain bike, between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. April 22, from the 1200 block of Park Street.

Tuesday, April 27

BATTERY: Police are looking for a suspect in a battery that occurred in connection with a dispute over money. Police said that the victim and another person were arguing over money the victim apparently owed her. She then called the suspect to tell her about the argument. The suspect arrived at about 7 p.m. April 26 and punched the victim in the left eye as he sat on the couch at a Pacific Avenue residence. She then fled.

Stolen bicycles: Blue Raleigh Super Gran Prix 10-speed road bike with a 25” frame, between 10 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., from the 2200 block of Santa Clara Avenue.

Wednesday, April 28

BATTERY ARREST: Police arrested Jermaine Antonio Smith, 30, no address given, on a battery charge. Police said Smith turned himself in and was arrested at 4:20 p.m. and booked into Alameda City Jail.

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, broke into an apartment on the 1200 block of Park Street and took laptops and cameras valued at $4,780. Police said that sometime between 8:35 a.m. and 4:40 p.m., the suspect or suspects pried open the victim’s front door, took the items and left.

Thursday, April 29

BURGLARY: Police are looking for a burglary suspect who, they said, attacked his victim when confronted and fled after stealing $60 in cash. Police said that sometime between 8 p.m. April 28 and 4:51 a.m. today, the suspect broke into a rear-yard home on the 200 block of Beach Road while the victim, a 42-year-old man, was asleep. The victim woke up and confronted the suspect, who attacked him and left him unconscious, police said. The suspect is described as a white male, 5’10” and 170 pounds, possibly with brown hair. No other suspect information was available.

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, broke into several storage units on West Hornet Avenue. Police said the break-ins occurred sometime between 10 p.m. April 28 and 9 a.m. today. The items taken and their value was not known.

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, broke into an apartment on the 1800 block of Sherman Street and stole $1,000 in cash. Police said that sometime between 8:35 a.m. and 3:40 p.m., someone entered the apartment through an open window, searched it, took the money and left.

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, broke into an apartment on the 300 block of Central Avenue and took a television and laptop computer valued at $3,379. Police said that sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., the suspect or suspects forced open the front door of the apartment with a pry tool and took the items.

Stolen autos: Green 1993 Dodge Caravan, between 8:30 p.m. April 27 and 5 p.m. April 28, from the corner of Chestnut Street and Pacific Avenue.

White 1994 Chevrolet Suburban, between 7 p.m. April 28 and 8 a.m. today, from the 1700 block of Alameda Avenue.

Stolen bicycles: Make and model not listed, between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. April 27, from the 400 block of Stardust Place.

Friday, April 30

GRAND THEFT: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, stole $3,000 worth of mounted cellular equipment from a cell tower site on the 2500 block of Mecartney Road. Police said that the items were taken sometime between April 9 and noon on April 29.

Stolen autos: Green 1998 Jaguar XJ8L, between 10 p.m. and 11:56 p.m., from the 300 block of Park Street.

Stolen bicycles: Black Vilano, between 2:30 p.m. and 2:50 p.m., from the 1400 block of Webster Street.

Unknown make and model, between 1 p.m. and 1:48 p.m., from the 500 block of Westline Drive.

Saturday, May 1

DRUNK DRIVING ARREST: Police arrested Holly Rasu Howes, 45, of Alameda, on a drunk driving charge. Police said they arrested Howes after she hit two parked cars. Police said Howes showed signs of being intoxicated and did not perform field sobriety tests as directed. Howes was arrested at 11:14 p.m.

Stolen autos: Gray 1991 Toyota Camry, between 11 p.m. May 1 and 6 a.m. May 2, from the 1800 block of Ohlone Street.

Red 1987 Nissan two-door, mode unknown, between 4 p.m. May 1 and 9 a.m. today, from the 400 block of Camden Road.
