New Boys and Girls Club moves forward
Here’s a photo of the foundation of the new Boys and Girls Club of Alameda being poured. The club is working on a joint use agreement with the city, which club and city leaders said is the last step they need to complete in order to receive the East Bay Regional Park District board’s okay to collect $1 million in Measure WW park bond funds to help complete the project.
Club and city leaders said they expect the parks board to approve the funding request – which now sits on the “do not fund” list – at their June 18 if city leaders approve the agreement by June 1.
Separately, the park board is expected to approve more than $1.8 million in WW money for Alameda park projects, including $1,365,489 for Krusi Park renovations; $100,000 for a new play structure in Tillman Park and $350,000 to resurface tennis courts in several parks.
