Monday, April 12

GRAND THEFT: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, stole $1,710 worth of tools from a truck parked in the City Hall parking lot on the 2200 block of Santa Clara Avenue. Police said the alleged theft occurred sometime between 6:40 a.m. and 7:07 a.m.

ROBBERY: Police are looking for two men who, they said, robbed a store at the 2500 block of Santa Clara Avenue and got away with $3,900. Police said the men entered the Mail Boxes Plus store at 12:35 p.m., grabbed a worker there and demanded money. They said one of the suspects acted as lookout while the other collected the money. The men then fled.

GRAND THEFT: Police are looking for a suspect in a theft at a High Street cycle shop. Police said that at 2:05 p.m., someone entered Cycle Sports and stole a marine blue 208 Trek Pilot road bike that was worth $1,399.

GRAND THEFT: Police are looking for a suspect in a purse theft. Police said that at 9 a.m., someone stole an unattended purse from the 200 block of Packet Landing Road. The purse and its contents were valued at $1,050.

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, stole business documents, rugs and other items valued at more than $600 from a storage unit on the 1100 block of Park Avenue. Police said that sometime between 7 p.m. on April 11 and 11 a.m. today, someone cut a lock to the victim’s storage closet, which is located in the covered parking lot of his apartment building, and took the items.

Tuesday, April 13

BURGLARY: Police are looking for two suspects in the alleged burglary of a local sub shop. Police said that shortly after 1 a.m., the suspects entered a Quizno’s sub shop on the 900 block of Marina Village Parkway, took the cash register drawer and change dispenser and fled. The first suspect was described as being male, 5’7” and 150 pounds, wearing a black baseball cap, gray hooded sweatshirt, white T-shirt and blue jeans. The second suspect was described as being 5’8”, 170 pounds, wearing a black baseball cap, black jacket, dark pants and white shoes.

ANIMAL ABUSE: Police are investigating an alleged case of animal abuse. Police said a woman left her dog in a vehicle parked on the 1300 block of Harbor Bay Parkway for more than three hours with no food, water or shade.

BURGLARY: Police said an unknown suspect or suspects broke into an apartment on the 2000 block of Buena Vista Avenue and stole a laptop, jewelry and a cell phone worth $5,500. Police said that sometime between 11 a.m. and 1:45 p.m., the suspect or suspects entered the apartment through an open rear window, took the items and fled.

Stolen vehicles: Red 1980 Harley Davidson Sportster 1000, between 8:50 p.m. April 12 and 8:45 a.m. today, from the 2200 block of San Antonio Avenue.

Wednesday, April 14

BURGLARY: Police are looking for someone who, they said, attempted to burglarize a home on the 300 block of Hollister Avenue. Police said that shortly after 11 a.m., the suspect allegedly entered the side yard of the residence through an unlocked gate and then entered the home through a dog door. The suspect was then confronted by the victim, who told the suspect to leave. The suspect then left the residence through the same dog door without saying anything to the victim or stealing anything, police said.

GRAND THEFT: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, stole golf clubs and a bicycle valued at $917 from the 2500 block of Santa Clara Avenue. Police said that sometime between 7:45 p.m. April 13 and 4 a.m. today, someone entered an open carport and stole the bicycle, a blue and white Mongoose mountain bike, and two sets of golf clubs.

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the suspect or suspects who, they said, broke into an apartment on the 1300 block of Park Street and took a laptop, camera and cash valued at $3,200. Police said that sometime between 3:50 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., the suspect or suspects allegedly broke into the apartment through an open rear window and took the items.

Thursday, April 15

BATTERY: Police arrested Lorena Andrea Nunes, 25, no address given, on a battery charge. Police said that between 2:30 a.m. and 2:45 a.m., Nunes battered and injured a paramedic while she was being treated at Alameda Hospital.

GRAND THEFT: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, stole a metal water backflow device worth $600 from an office complex on the 2400 block of Mariner Square Loop. Police said that sometime between 11:30 p.m. April 14 and 8 a.m. today, someone used a saw to cut two two-inch metal pipes and take the device.

BURGLARY: Police said a suspect or suspects broke into an apartment on the 2200 block of San Jose Avenue and took a flat screen TV and cash worth $740. Police said that sometime between 7:50 a.m. and 4 p.m. on April 14, someone forced entry into the apartment, took the items and fled.

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, broke into an apartment in the 1400 block of Eighth Street and stole a video game system, laptop and jewelry valued at $1,960. Police said that sometime between 7:40 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., the suspect or suspects forced entry into the victim’s apartment and took the items.

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, entered a hotel room on the 1300 block of Marina Village Parkway ad stole an aluminum box. Police said the alleged theft occurred sometime between noon on April 10 and 5:30 p.m. today.

Friday, April 16

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person who, they said, broke into a Park Street wiener hut and stole $600 in cash. Police said that sometime between 11:30 p.m. April 15 and 6:50 a.m. today, an unknown suspect broke into the Wienerschnitzel on the 1500 block of Park Street and ransacked the office and stole loose cash, rolled coins and a register drawer containing cash.

INDENCENT EXPOSURE: Police arrested Frank Acheampong Yeboah, 29, no address given, on an indecent exposure charge. Police said that at 2:43 p.m., Yeboah was observed by two witnesses to be exposing himself in public view on the 400 block of Buena Vista Avenue. Yeboah was placed under citizens arrest, cited and released.

GRAND THEFT: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, stole a car muffler, exhaust and header valued at $1,800 from a vehicle parked in the 1400 block of Bay Street. Police said the alleged crime occurred sometime between 1 p.m. and 2:45 p.m.

DRUNK DRIVING: Police arrested Robert Stuart Helvie, 56, no address given, on drunk driving and hit and run charges. Police said Helvie was involved in a hit and run traffic collision and that he returned to the scene of the collision after being followed by a witness. Police said Helvie showed signs of intoxication and that he was unable to satisfactorily complete field sobriety tests. Helvie was arrested at 9:33 p.m. on the 1800 block of Lincoln Avenue.

Stolen bicycles: Green girls one-speed bicycle, between 9 p.m. April 15 and 8 a.m. today, from the 2200 block of Buena Vista Avenue.

Adult bike, unknown make and model, between 9:40 a.m. and 9:50 a.m., from the 2300 block of Santa Clara Avenue.

Blue and yellow 1998 GT Tequesta mountain bike, between 9 a.m. April 10 and 10 a.m. April 15, from the 3100 block of El Paseo.

Saturday, April 17

BATTERY: Police are looking for three suspects who got into a physical altercation with two victims. Police said the alleged incident occurred between 1:20 a.m. and 1:35 a.m. on the 1400 block of Park Street.

DRUNK DRIVING: Police arrested Lynn Rae Styne, 43, of Alameda on a drunk driving charge. Police said Styne was contacted at the scene of a collision, that she admitted to driving and that she was standing next to her car. Police said she showed signs of intoxication and was unable to complete field sobriety tests as directed. She was arrested at 1:35 p.m. on the 900 block of Santa Clara Avenue.
