Check, please!
Alameda Hospital Foundation President Ed Kofman and Alameda Boys & Girls Club President Sally Rudloff accept a check from Allison Shannon, director of marketing and events for the Alameda Theatre & Cineplex on April 2. The theater’s February 13 Valentine’s Rock event, which featured live music, food and drink, raised $5,000 for local charities and the American Red Cross Haiti relief fund.
Incidentally, the Boys & Girls Club is holding its Kids Nite Out event from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, April 23 in the gym at Chipman Middle School, 401 Pacific Avenue. The event is free and open to youths ages 9-14, who will be matched with an adult to participate in games such as a free throw shooting contest, putting, football toss, floor hockey and word search. The event includes dinner, a T-shirt and a photo with the participating adult.
The registration deadline for the event is Friday, April 16. To sign up, contact the club’s site director, Marc Morales, at 864-0580.
And if you’re an adult who would like to participate in the event, the cost is $25. The cost includes participation in the event, a T-shirt, dinner and post-event festivities with participating adults at the Ballena Bay Yacht Club. For more information on how to help out, call the club’s main office, at 522-4900. Registration deadline is April 16.
