HATE CRIME: Police are investigating an alleged hate crime at the Islamic Center of Alameda on Santa Clara Avenue. Police said the alleged vandalism occurred sometime between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on March 14. Police could not be reached for further details regarding the incident.

Stolen bicycles: Black 26-speed Diamondback, between 5 p.m. March 12 and noon March 14, from the 2100 block of Lincoln Avenue.

Tuesday, March 16

BATTERY ARREST: Police arrested Jose Guadalupe Guerrero, 31, of Oakland on false imprisonment, vandalism and battery charges. Police said Guererro locked his girlfriend in a bedroom, bit her on the arm and broke her property. Police arrested Guerrero without incident at 1:32 a.m. at his Park Avenue apartment.

GRAND THEFT: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, stole an outboard motor and a GPS from a boat valued at $4,199. Police said the alleged theft occurred sometime between noon on December 1, 2009 and 11:30 a.m. today.

STOLEN ASTRONOMY EQUIPMENT: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, broke into a vehicle parked on the 1300 block of Broadway and stole astronomy equipment worth $10,480. Police said that sometime between 9 a.m. and 3:15 p.m., someone smashed a window on the vehicle and stole eyepieces and other equipment.

BATTERY: Police are looking for the person who, they said, slapped a 14-year-old girl after she refused to hug him. Police said the alleged crime occurred around 3:20 p.m. on the 1500 block of Fourth Street.

Stolen bicycles: Purple 2000 Palomar 21-speed mountain bike, between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., from the 1200 block of Park Street.

Wednesday, March 17

CRIMINAL THREATS: Police are investigating criminal threats that are alleged to have been made over parking on Park Street. Police said the suspect and the victims have had an ongoing dispute over parking in the victim’s parking lot, on the 1200 block of Park Street. They said the alleged threats occurred at 11 p.m. March 16.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE ARREST: Police arrested Kayla Katherine Rose, 18, of San Leandro, on charges of driving under the influence and drug charges. Police said they arrested Rose at the scene of a two-car crash at the corner of Otis Drive and Southshore Center. They said Rose showed signs of being under the influence of marijuana and that she was found to be in possession of marijuana and Vicodin without a prescription. She was transported to Alameda Hospital for medical treatment and then to North County Jail for booking.

Thursday, March 18

POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY: Police arrested Jaime Chavarin, 54, of Oakland on a possession of stolen property charge. Police said Chavarin was stopped near the scene of a theft from a vehicle and that the stolen items were found in a trash can next to where Chavarin as standing. He was arrested at 5:34 a.m. on the 600 block of High Street. Police also arrested Omar Salado-Cruz, 38, of Oakland on the same charge. Police said Salado-Cruz was found carrying a box of tools that had been taken from a truck parked on the 1500 block of Pearl Street. He was arrested at 5:19 a.m. at the corner of Lincoln Avenue and Pearl Street.

GRAND THEFT: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, attempted to steal a vehicle parked on the 1900 block of Third Street who took stereo equipment and other items valued at $520. Police said that sometime between 4:30 p.m. March 17 and 4 a.m. today, the suspect or suspects smashed the vehicle’s left rear window and took the items.

LASER POINTER: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, shined a green laser pointer at an airplane leaving Oakland International Airport. Police said the alleged crime occurred at about 6:45 a.m.

STOLEN DOG: Police are looking for the person or persons who stole an elderly woman’s dog from her parked car on March 15. Police said that at about 10 a.m., the woman parked her car in the lot outside Safeway at the Harbor Bay Shopping Center on Island Drive with the windows open three or four inches and the doors unlocked, and went inside. When she returned 10 minutes, later, police said, the dog was gone. Police did not say what kind of dog the woman had.

GRAND THEFT: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, took a camera, laptop, tools and GPS valued at $3,869 from a vehicle parked on the 1300 block of Ballena Boulevard. Police said that sometime between 8 p.m. March 17 and 8 a.m. today, the suspect or suspects broke the vehicle side window and took the items.

ROBBERY ARREST: Police arrested Christopher Mean, 18, of Oakland on a robbery charge. Police said Mean was identified by witnesses as a person who attempted to take a victim’s skateboard and iPod. Mean was arrested at 12:08 a.m. on the 400 block of Willow Street.

Friday, March 19

GRAND THEFT: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, took a stereo and other items valued at $700 from a parked car. Police said the alleged theft took place sometime between 8 p.m. March 18 and 8 a.m. today.

ROBBERY: Police are looking for a man who, they said, robbed a Citibank branch on Santa Clara Avenue. Police said the man entered the bank at 1:43 p.m. and demanded money from the teller before fleeing the bank through the south exit door onto Park Avenue. It was not clear how much money was taken. The suspect was described as an African American male in his 30s, 5’8” with a light complexion, brown eyes and a goatee. Police said he had gold grill teeth and was wearing a white knit cap, a white, long sleeve shirt and khaki pants.

BATTERY: Police are looking for the person who battered a teen in a local park after accusing the boy of belonging to a gang. Police said that at about 3:30 p.m., the suspect approached the victim as he was sitting at McKinley Park and accused him of belonging to a gang. The suspect then punched the victim in the face twice without provocation, police said. A suspect description was not released.

ARSON: Police are looking for the suspect or suspects who, they said, set fire to a patio set at St. Philip Neri school without permission. Police said the alleged arson occurred sometime between 9:50 p.m. and 9:55 p.m.

Stolen autos: Green 1990 BMW 535i, between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. March 18, from the 1400 block of Pacific Avenue.

GRAND THEFT: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, stole stereo equipment worth $480 from a vehicle parked on the 1800 block of Oak Street. Police said the alleged crime occurred sometime between 8 p.m. March 19 and 6:55 a.m. today.

DRUNK DRIVING ARREST: Police arrested Gabriel Allen Flesher, 32, of Alameda, on a drunk driving charge. Police arrested Flesher following his involvement in a December 11, 2009 traffic accident on Island Drive at Robert Davey Drive in which one person was injured. Police conducted a blood test on Lesher.

Stolen autos: Blue 1995 Honda Odyssey, between 8 p.m. March 19 and 3:15 p.m. today, from the 1200 block of Regent Street.

Sunday, March 21

GRAND THEFT: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, broke into a parked vehicle and took a laptop computer, camera, briefcase and chiropractic table worth $2,950. Police said the alleged crime occurred sometime between 10:45 a.m. March 20 and 11 a.m. today on the 500 block of Pacific Avenue.

Stolen vehicles: White 2007 Dodge Caravan, between 7 p.m. March 20 and 8 a.m. today, from the 300 block of Santa Clara Avenue.
