GRAND THEFT: Police are looking for the person or persons who stole tools valued at $676 from a vehicle parked on the 1300 block of Caroline Street. Police said the alleged crime occurred sometime between 7 p.m. January 24 and 10:30 a.m. today.
RAPE: Police have forwarded an alleged 2004 rape to the district attorney for possible charges. Police said the Coast Guard asked them to investigate a rape that was alleged to have occurred during a summer 2004 party on Monterey Circle, in the Coast Guard housing. They said both the suspect and the alleged victim are Coast Guard members. Police said the case was passed to them about a year ago because the federal statute of limitations for investigating it had run out.

Tuesday, January 26
ROBBERY ARREST: Police arrested David Arthur Griffin, 23, no address given, on a robbery charge. Police said Griffin was positively identified by witnesses as the suspect in a December robbery in Littlejohn Park. Griffin was arrested at 6:08 p.m. and booked into Alameda City Jail.
FORGED CHECK ARREST: Police arrested Jason Farrell Mizar, 36, of Alameda, on suspicion of passing forged, stolen checks. Mizar was arrested at the Hayward Hall of Justice. Police believe Mizar wrote checks totaling $2,173 to himself and others that he took from the Love Fellowship Church of God in Christ, where he had recently become a parishoner. They checked the local residence hotel where Mizar was staying before locating him at court in Hayward, where he was appearing for a court date. Police said Mizar confessed to the alleged crimes.
GRAND THEFT: Police are looking for the person or persons who stole tires valued at $401 from a motorcycle parked on the 2200 block of Lincoln Avenue. The alleged theft occurred sometime between the night of January 25 and 8 a.m. today. Separately, a black 2009 Yamaha R6 motorcycle, between 10:15 p.m. January 25 and 8 a.m. today, from the same block of Lincoln Avenue.
Wednesday, January 27
GRAND THEFT: Police are looking for the person or persons who apparently stole a stereo, telephones, clothing and other items. Police said the alleged crime occurred sometime between 10:30 p.m. January 26 and 6:30 a.m. today on the 2900 block of Northwood Drive.
GRAND THEFT: Police are looking for the person or persons who broke into a vehicle parked on the 2900 block of Gibbons Drive and stole a GPS unit, sunglasses and cash valued at $729. The alleged crime occurred sometime between 8 p.m. January 26 and 7:54 a.m. today.
ASSAULT AND BATTERY: Police arrested Eric Von Kauffman, 42, of Alameda, on assault and intoxication charges. Police said that they arrested Kauffman at 11:20 p.m. on the assault warrant and that he appeared intoxicated. He was booked into the Alameda City Jail.

Thursday, January 28
GRAND THEFT: Police are looking for the person or persons who stole construction tools valued at $1,440 from a truck parked on the 1200 block of South Loop Road. Police said the alleged crime occurred sometime between 9 p.m. January 27 and 7 a.m. today.
ROBBERY: Police are looking for five suspects who surrounded two teenage victims and demanded their belongings and knife point. Police said the alleged robbery took place at around 5:45 p.m. on the corner of Alameda Avenue and Walnut Street, and that the attackers took an iPod and cash valued at $375.
POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY ARREST: Police arrested Helena Rae Shanafelt, 23, and Long The Ta, 28, both of Alameda, on possession of stolen property charges. Police said Shanafelt and Long were found to be in possession of a stolen bicycle each. The pair were booked at Alameda City Jail.
BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who, they said, stole $1,098 worth of items from a Buena Vista Avenue apartment complex. Police said that sometime between 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., the suspect or suspects entered the apartment through a sliding glass door and took the items.
Stolen bicycles: White and brown 2009 Mongoose BMX, between 1 p.m. January 26 and 3 p.m. January 27, from the 2100 block of Lincoln Avenue.
Friday, January 29
POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY ARREST: Police arrested Steven Scott, 39, of Oakland, on a possession of stolen property charge. Police believe Scott stole tools valued at $1,051 from a pickup truck parked on the 1700 block of Versailles Avenue. Police contacted Scott after a woman who heard a car alarm and saw Scott walking away from the vehicle it was coming from called police. Police found him to be in possession of a bag of tools that they said was identified as the ones stolen from the vehicle. Scott was also arrested on a parole violation. He was arrested at 1:38 a.m. on the corner of Fruitvale and Alameda avenues in Oakland.
GRAND THEFT: Police are looking for the person or persons who broke a window on a vehicle parked on the 1500 block of Court Street and stole a GPS, iTouch and cash valued at $455. Police said the alleged crime occurred between 6 p.m. January 28 and today.
LOTTERY TICKET THEFT: Police are looking for the person or persons who broke into a Park Street home and stole a lottery ticket valued at $1. Police said the victim returned home at 11 p.m. to find her rear slider and screen doors opened. She said her home was not rummaged through and that the only thing that was missing was a lottery ticket that was on her kitchen counter, next to the stove.
FRAUD: A local man is out more than $4,000 after becoming a victim of fraud. Police said the man got an e-mail saying he had been selected as a candidate to become a mystery shopper. He then sent two money orders totaling more than $4,000 to the Netherlands, they said. Police said the alleged crime occurred between January 19 and January 26, and they said federal authorities are investigating the case as well.
Saturday, January 30
BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person who, they said, stole golf clubs valued at $700 from a garage on the corner of Robert Davey Jr. Drive and Puddingstone Drive. Police said the suspect entered the garage shortly after 1:10 a.m., took the clubs and fled.
Stolen bicycles: Black Fuji Tracker, between 7 p.m. and 7:04 pm. January 28, from the 1400 block of Park Street.
