Your weekend: Altarena’s Bus Stop
I would be remiss (remiss!) if I didn’t let you know that the folks at Altarena Playhouse are performing their take on William Inge’s “Bus Stop.” The show, which is directed by Michael Ryken, is open through February 6.
The Tony Award-nominated show chronicles the relationships forged when a group of people are stranded in a diner outside Kansas City during a freak, late-night snowstorm. Altarena’s production features Xanadu Bruggers, Charles Evans, Hannah Knapp, Charles Lewis, Adam Reeser, Cynthia Roberts, David Roberts and Stephen Steiner.
Shows are at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays (with some special Thursday shows at 8 p.m. January 28 and February 4). Tickets are $22, $19 for students and seniors, and are available online or by calling 523-1553. The show is recommended for audiences 13 and older.
Altarena is at 1409 High Street.
