Kindergarten information night is January 13
Alameda Unified kicks off the enrollment process for the 2010-11 school year this coming Wednesday, January 13 with its annual Kindergarten Information Night. The informational event will take place from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at each of the Island’s elementary schools (so you can get all the details at your neighborhood school).
Per district officials, kindergarten enrollment packets with all your registration materials will be handed out, and school principals and office staff will walk you through what to do with ’em. They will also discuss how parents can help prepare their children for school, take questions from the audience and schedule school tours for parents.
Kindergarten registration forms will be accepted starting Tuesday, January 19, with the cutoff date for kindergarten roundup set for February 1. Enrollment will remain open after that date, but if the school’s got more students than spaces, your child will earn a spot on the wait list.
Registration for grades 1-12 will begin March 1, and forms are available at school sites. Your enrollment process begins at your home school. If you’re not sure which school is your home school, check out the district’s handy boundary map or give the fine folks at Student Services a call, at 337-7072.
