IDENTITY THEFT: Police are looking for the person or persons who used a Monte Vista Avenue resident’s information to make unauthorized purchases. Police said the victim found a charge posted to his bank account for $172.88 for perfume on December 13. Police said the perfume was to be shipped to an address in Albany, N.Y. Police said the charge was stopped and the account closed.

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who they said took a computer tower and key valued at $200 from a residence on the 2100 block of Lincoln Avenue. Police said the alleged burglary occurred sometime between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. They said the suspect kicked in the victim’s front door and took the items.

Stolen autos: Silver 1979 Oldsmobile Sentry, between 1 p.m. December 12 and 7:45 a.m. today, from the 150 block of Sixth Street.

Tuesday, December 15

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who stole $13,500 worth of laptop computers from Wind River Systems. Police said that sometime between 4:30 p.m. December 11 and 3 p.m. December 14, someone accessed the building and an electronic storage room and took the laptops.

IDENTITY THEFT: Police are looking for the person who they said took a Regent Street resident’s credit card information and attempted to use it to buy $2,191.18 worth of items in Illinois. Police said the victim got a phone call form his card issuer on December 7 asking for authorization for the purchases, which he did not provide.

ROBBERY: Police are looking for the person who robbed a Bank of America branch on Park Street. Police said the suspect entered the bank at around 1:40 p.m., handed a demand note to a teller and fled with an undisclosed sum of cash. They described the suspect as a black male between the ages of 20-30, between 5’8” and 6’2”, 150 lbs., with buzzed hair and brown eyes.

IDENTITY THEFT: Police are looking for the person or persons who stole a Taylor Avenue resident’s identity information to open up accounts in his name. Police said the person opened AT&T and T-Mobile accounts in the victim’s name sometime between November 23 and December 6, running up $925.09 in bills.

ROBBERY: Police are looking for four suspects who they said held two people and gun- and knifepoint and took their cell phone. Police said that between 10:20 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., at the corner of Grand Street and Shoreline Drive, one suspect pointed a gun and a second suspect pointed a knife at the pair and demanded their belongings. They took the phone and fled on foot. The suspects are described as four black males, age 15.

Stolen autos: Black 2005 Subaru Forester wagon, between 10 p.m. December 9 and 9:44 a.m. December 10, from the 300 block of Westline Drive.

Wednesday, December 16

GRAND THEFT: Police are looking for two men who police said stole a stroller worth $600 off the front porch of a Park Street resident. Police said that at 10:15 a.m., a man knocked on the victim’s door to tell her that he thought someone had taken the stroller off her porch. The suspects were described as a white male in his 20s, 5’10” and 150 lbs. and wearing a dark coat, and the second subject was described as a white female in her 20s with dark hair and a dark jacket, carrying some sort of shopping bag. Police said they were last seen heading north on Park Street.

FRAUD: Police are looking for suspects in a check-washing case. They said that sometime between December 8 and December 14, the suspects washed two checks they had received from two victims and rewrote them with higher amounts to other private parties.

ROBBERY: Police are looking for a woman who, they said, grabbed an elderly woman’s purse, pushed her to the ground and fled. Police said the crime occurred at 5:54 p.m. on the 200 block of Central Avenue. They described the suspect as an Hispanic female in her 20s or 30s, 5’2” to 5’3”, weighing 175 lbs. and with dark hair. They said she fled in a silver, early 2000s-model Dodge Charger or similar vehicle. The purse and its contents were valued at $340.

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who they said burglarized the Tideway Drive home of a recently deceased Island resident. Police said a neighbor called them at 8:53 p.m. to report a possible burglary in progress at the home. The neighbor said the owner of that home had died a few weeks earlier. Police said the burglars took electronics, furniture and numerous other items. Their value was not listed.

Stolen bicycles: Green and silver Mongoose Chaos BMX bike, between 8 p.m. December 14 and 8 a.m. December 15, from the 1100 block of Mound Street.

Blue and purple Trek 21-speed mountain bike, between 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., from the 2000 block of Central Avenue.

Thursday, December 17

FRAUD: Police are investigating a suspect in a fake check case. Police said the suspect tried to pass a fake check bearing the name of a local business at a Walmart store in Anaheim on December 11. Police said the victim was able to stop payment of the check, which was written for $1,425.85.

IDENTITY THEFT: Police are looking for the person or persons who they said stole a Lincoln Avenue resident’s information to make $447.24 in purchases. Police said the alleged crime occurred sometime on December 15.

STRONG ARM ROBBERY: Police are looking for suspects in a strong arm robbery on Pacific Avenue. Police said that shortly before 5 p.m., the suspects chased the victim through a park, punched and kicked him, stole his wallet and took off in a waiting vehicle. They described the vehicle as a white, four-door Nissan. The value of the wallet and its content was listed as $135.

IDENTITY THEFT: Police are looking for a suspect who they said cashed checks using a Central Avenue resident’s identity. The value of the checks was not estimated. Police said the alleged crimes occurred between April 17 and June 26.

GRAND THEFT: Police are looking for the person or persons who they said stole a wallet, computer and iPod worth $1,450 from a vehicle parked on the 1400 block of Union Street. Police said the alleged theft occurred sometime between 8 p.m. December 16 and 7 a.m. today.

Friday, December 18

BATTERY: Police are looking for a man who, they said, stabbed a friend in the stomach during an altercation at a Webster Street bar. Police said the pair were fighting in the bar, shortly after 2 a.m., when the suspect punched the victim in the face and then stabbed him. The suspect then fled south on Webster Street. Police described the suspect as an Hispanic male, 5’1” and 190 lbs., with straight, black hair. The suspect was dressed all in red and was wearing a black beanie.

BURGLARY: Police are looking for a suspect who they said stole jewelry, cell phones and paperwork valued at $2,130 from a Buena Vista Avenue apartment. Police said the suspect, who they described as a 17-year-old Hispanic male, 5’8”, 150 lbs. with straight, black hair, entered the apartment, on the 500 block of Buena Vista, sometime between 10:10 a.m. and 10:51 a.m., conducted a messy search and fled with the items. They said the suspect was wearing a red and blue flannel shirt, white undershirt, blue jeans and white Converse sneakers.

BURGLARIES: Police are looking for the person or persons who stole $13,800 worth of luggage and perfume from a Sherman Street storage facility. Police said the suspect or suspects cut the padlock on the victim’s storage locker sometime between December 6 and today and took the items. Separately, police are looking for the person or persons who stole $3,700 worth of antiques from another storage locker, sometime between December 11 and today. They said the padlock on the locker had been cut off.

GRAND THEFT: Police are looking for the person or persons who took a stereo, GPS and laptop computer valued at $2,500 from a vehicle parked on the 300 block of Park Street. Police said the alleged crime occurred sometime between 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who they said stole jewelry, guns and a computer valued at $5,650 from a home on the 1900 block of Otis Drive. Police said the suspect or suspects entered the home through a window sometime between 3 p.m. and 9:45 p.m.

Stolen autos: Orange 2003 Suzuki SV650 motorcycle, between 8 p.m. December 14 and 7:30 a.m. today, from the 300 block of Tideway Drive.

Stolen bicycles: Orange men’s Specialized Hard Rock 24-speed, between 12:30 p.m. and 2:41 p.m., from the 2500 block of San Jose Avenue.

Saturday, December 19

ELDER FINANCIAL ABUSE: Police are looking into a case of suspected elder financial abuse. Police said they believe the suspect took thousands of dollars a month from the victim, a 92-year-old Pacific Avenue resident, to purchase investment property for the victim. Police said that no known property has been purchased. They said that over the last 16 months, $447,600 was taken from the victim.

IDENTITY THEFT: Police are looking for someone they said stole a victim’s identity to open an account with a local storage facility. Police said the account was opened under the victim’s name on September 19 with cash and that no further payments were made.

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who broke into a home on the 300 block of Tideway Drive and stole personal papers. Police said the suspect kicked in the door to the residence sometime between 3 p.m. December 18 and 3 p.m. today and took the papers from the resident’s office.

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who they said stole $1,450 worth of electronics from an apartment on the 400 block of Buena Vista Avenue. Police said the alleged crime occurred sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 1:40 p.m.

BATTERY: Police are looking into an alleged battery on an unnamed block of Grand Street. Police said the suspect, a 45-year-old male, pushed and choked a female neighbor during an argument. Police said the suspect and victim have had very little prior contact, but they said the suspect has had problems with other neighbors, who have complained he makes noise late at night, moving and working on vehicles.

Stolen autos: Green 1994 Acura Integra, between 2 a.m. and 5 p.m., from the 300 block of Broadway.

Sunday, December 20

GRAND THEFT: Police are looking for the person or persons who stole $800 worth of beef and fish from Kai’s Restaurant on Park Street. Police said the suspect or suspects forced open the doors of three upright storage freezers in a yard behind the restaurant, sometime between 10:30 p.m. December 19 and 10:45 a.m. today, and took the food.

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who they said stole tools from a building on the 1600 block of Ferry Point Road. Police said the tools were taken sometime between 3:30 p.m. December 18 and 12:30 p.m. today, when someone cut locks to the building’s outside door and entered. The suspect or suspects then cut locks to a number of cabinet doors and took the tools. The value of the tools was unknown.

BURGLARY: Police are looking for the person or persons who they said stole cash and jewelry valued at $2,400 from a residence on the 2000 block of Sandcreek Way. Police said the suspect entered the residence sometime between noon December 2 and 11 a.m. today and took the items. They said the doors at the residence are regularly left unlocked.

Stolen bicycles: Orange 1999 Trek 6500 21-speed mountain bike, between 7 p.m. December 19 and 9 a.m. today, from the 300 block of Westline Drive.
