POLICE INVESTIGATE APPARENT HOMICIDE
Police said they received a call at 8:57 p.m. Wednesday from someone requesting a welfare check on a relative they had not seen in a few days. Police said they then responded to the man’s home, in the 100 block of Parfait Lane, and found him dead from an apparent gunshot wound.
Police Lt. Bill Scott said officers have been working around the clock to try to run down suspects in what he said they believe is a homicide. “We’ve got some active leads, and we’re pursuing those,” Scott said.
Alameda Police and the Alameda County Coroner’s Office are investigating. If police determine the shooting is a homicide, it will be the Island’s third this year.
