The Jets had made it to the championship after beating twelfth-seeded Miramonte, 48-32, at home on December 4.

“They played a great game,” Encinal coach Joe Tenorio told the Oakland Tribune’s Jimmy Durkin after the tough loss. “It was more about how they played than how bad we played. I’ve got to give them their credit. They kicked our (butts).”

Encinal won the NCS title in 2008.

Durkin’s full story, with pictures, is here. The full North Coast bracket is here. And our congratulations to the Jets for another great season is right here.
