Alameda celebrates (with pix!)
This weekend was chock full o’ holiday cheer, with a whole host of events happening all over the Island. Saturday morning brought Santa to the West Alameda Farmers’ Market, and on Saturday evening, locals were treated to a Mayor’s Tree Lighting spectacular with dancing trees, rocking elves and more.
Saturday night’s fun continued with the 33rd annual Lighted Yacht Parade through the Oakland Estuary, which a group of folks viewed from a prime spot behind Wind River. And the fun wrapped up on Sunday with skating, reindeer and a horse-drawn carriage in the City Hall parking lot, blown in on a cold wind you’d swear came straight from the Arctic.
And guess what? We got pictures. Check ’em out … by scrolling, as always, to the lower right of your screen.
