Wasson leaves hospital board; replacement sought
Wasson, who served as the board’s treasurer, left to spend more time with his family, the hospital said. He could not be reached for comment.
Wasson was first appointed to the board in 2006, to fill a seat vacated by Marilyn Ezzy Ashcraft when she left to take a seat on the Planning Board. He won election to the seat six months later. His term was due to expire in November 2010.
If you’re interested in the job, you’ve got until 5 p.m. Friday, November 6 to apply. Applicants are encouraged to attend an Applicant Conference at 6 p.m. Friday, December 3 to familiarize themselves with the health care district and the hospital. The board will interview applicants at its December 7 meeting, and members plan to make an appointment to the board that evening.
At a minimum, applicants for a seat on the at-large, five-member board must be Alameda residents and registered voters, must not have been suspended or expelled from the Medicare program and must not have been convicted of a felony.
Application packages must include a signed letter of interest, a resume, the names and contact information of at least two references, information on potential conflicts of interest with the board, authorization for a background investigation and a statement listing describing your interest in being on the board, views on the board’s role, vision for the hospital and value you’d bring to the board.
Application packages are to be mailed to City of Alameda Health Care District, Attention: Administration, 2070 Clinton Avenue, Alameda, Calif. 94501.
More information on how to apply is available by calling the district clerk, at 814-4001, or on the hospital’s website.
