Park Street gets two new eateries

Alameda’s restaurant stock has grown by two in recent weeks, with the addition of flavors of the near and far East.

17First up is Yo! Philly’s Cheesesteak (1234 Park Street), which took up residence in the former home of Bubbles Drinks in early September.

Owner (or should I say, Yo!wner) and Jersey boy Tom Stanley missed the flavor of the authentic cheesesteaks he had known and loved, so he decided to bring it to town. Everything he’s got is imported from Philly (Wise brand potato chips! Drake’s cakes!), right down to the heavy-duty rolls and Cheez Whiz.

They’re open Mondays through Saturdays, and Stanley says he delivers pretty much anywhere in town, with an order of $25 or more. You can check out the reviews on Yelp.

161We’ve also doubled our quotient of Indian restaurants with the arrival of Flavors of India (1337 Park Street), a local chain with outlets in Oakland and Berkeley. They’re set up where Village Pizza used to be.

Yelp reviews (just a few) here.
