Island sports: Middle school volleyball update
AEF’s Middle School Volleyball program culminated in an exciting playoff and championship series on October 27. The competitiveness between Chipman, Lincoln and Wood schools and the improvement in level of play during the season was evidenced by the fact all three schools were represented in the finals, and that in each division the #1 seeds were upset by the challengers.
In the girls division, #2 seed Lincoln knocked off #1 seed Wood 2-1 (21-14, 15-21, 15-3).
In the co-ed division, #2 seed Wood faced #1 seed Chipman in a tough battle, but came out ahead 2-1 (21-6, 12-21, 15-7).
