Today’s must-read: Kite surfing at Crown Beach

Submitted by on 1, September 4, 2009 – 5:45 amNo Comment

It’s been a busy week, so I am just now getting around to passing along this ad story in the Chronicle about wind and kite surfing out at Robert W. Crown Memorial State Beach.

The Chron’s Juliana says Crown Beach is one of the best spots in the Bay Area for wind and kite surfing due to its sandy shoreline; lack of hazards like jagged rocks and boats; and warm, clear, shallow water. And Stone says that the spot has become increasingly popular for wind and kite surfing, which can be done over the summer and fall months.

We’ve also got two local shops – Boardsports and Live2Kite – selling gear, offering lessons and organizing events.
