Bicycle safety class this Saturday

17BikeAlameda is hosting a pair of Urban Biking Safety classes, with the first one taking place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, September 26, in the social hall of First Congregational Church, 1912 Central Avenue.

The second course takes place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, October 10. The free classes are open to anyone age 14 and up. A bicycle is not required.

According to BikeAlameda’s website, the courses are taught by certified league cycling instructors will who will train participants on the basics of safe and enjoyable cycling, riding in traffic, required equipment, crash avoidance and legal rights and responsibilities.
