Police arrest Alameda man in shooting of officer
The Oakland Tribune is reporting that police have identified a suspect in the shooting of an Oakland police officer as Colin Todd of Alameda.
Police said that Todd, 41, fired at two officers who pulled his big rig over early Sunday morning because he was driving erratically, the Tribune reported. They said one officer was shot in the foot.
They said Todd crashed his truck and fled, leading police on a seven-hour manhunt to find him. Police told the Tribune they found the gun they believe was used to shoot the officer and drugs in Todd’s truck. They said he was taken to the hospital after being shot with a beanbag round and arrested at 11 a.m. Sunday.
