Girls Inc. fundraiser at Books Inc. tonight
At 7:30 p.m. today, she’ll talk about her new book, “What’s a Mother (in-Law) to Do? 5 Essential Steps to Building a Loving Relationship with Your Son’s New Wife.” Admission to the event, which is at Books Inc., is free. If you buy the book, she’ll donate a portion of the proceeds to Girls Inc.
Angelich is the chief executive officer of Bright IP Concepts, San Francisco Examiner.com’s in-law relationship columnist and an expert on work-life balance issues who has appeared in numerous national media (she’s also the mother to two grown sons). Girls Inc., of course, has been providing the Island’s girls programs on computers, math, science and more since 1964.
Books Inc. is at 1344 Park Street, and their phone number is 522-2226.
Girls Inc. is also bringing author Lynn Jimenez to town, for two talks on how to pay for a college education. Jimenez is an award-winning business reporter from KGO radio, and her new book is “Se Habla Dinero: The Everyday Guide to Financial Success.”
Jimenez will be at Books Inc. at 7 p.m. this Thursday, August 6. The event will include a book signing and question and answer session.
Her second talk will be at 6:30 p.m. next Monday, August 10 at the Longfellow Education Center, 500 Pacific Avenue, in Room 7 of Building A. That event is hosted in conjunction with Alameda Multicultural Community Center and the Alameda Family Literacy Program.
Both talks are free and open to the public.
