County taking applications for Leadership Academy
Want to know more about your county government and everything it has to offer? Well, you can learn it all at Alameda County’s Ninth Leadership Academy.
The free, six-session forum, which begins on October 7 and wraps up next March, is for people who live, work or own a business here in Alameda County. It’ll include presentations by top county leaders and small group exercises, and will offer participants the chance to learn about the county’s mission, vision and budget development process.
Participants in the sessions, which will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month, can also practice public speaking and other skills and participate in mock budgeting and public policy exercises.
They’re looking for people from around the county but space is limited. If you’re interested, you can apply online or call the County Administrator’s Office at 272-6510. The application deadline is August 28.
