School district seeks master facility plan writer
Alameda Unified is looking for someone to write a master academic and facilities plan for them – fast.
The district recently sent out a request for proposals for the master plan they’re hoping to have in place by December (for a history, you can go to the district’s website and click the master plan link at the top left). And the cover letter opened up with this direction:
The district is on a fast pace (sic) time line that will require the firm chosen to develop the fundamental elements of a facility master plan by the first week in November 2009. The process is in motion and the firm will need to enter at full speed to help assemble the options for the Board to review and provide direction to the Master Plan Committee.
Sounds like they’re looking for someone who can recommend specific, educational “signature programs” and also determine the district’s facilities needs and costs.
Bids are due by July 29, and the district hopes to start interviewing the firms that could author the plan, which they hope to use for the next five to 15 years, in August.
