More fun on the fourth

sm_burgeeNot enough to do on the Island this coming fourth of July? Well, here’s two more events.

The Aeolian Yacht Club is holding a free open house and BBQ from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, one of two membership events they’ll be holding this month.

They’re promising lots of fun activities plus raffles of items donated by local businesses (which will begin at about noon).

For more information, contact the club’s office manager, Sherry Armijo, at 523-2586 or aeolianyc@aol.com. The club is at 980 Fernside Drive, right by the Bay Farm Island bridge.

They’re also having a tropical party beginning at 10 a.m. on July 18. The event includes live music and a pig dinner. Admission is $17. For more information or to make a reservation, call or e-mail the club.

The U.S.S. Hornet is also hosting its annual Fourth of July party starting at 1 p.m. Saturday. They’ll have live music all day plus dancing, all kinds of activities for the kids, tours, food and beverages and a panoramic view of the fireworks.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $25 at the door, $10 for the kids and free for museum members and kids under 5. The Hornet is parked out at Alameda Point, and their phone number for more information is 521-8448, ext. 282.
