Meals on Wheels wine-tasting fundraiser is Sunday
Donations are accepted at the door, and raffle tickets will also be sold for prizes including a Hawaiian getaway. The event will include tastings from more than a dozen wineries, a “Taste of Alameda” from a where’s where of local restaurants, a Jurassic Adventure Children’s Area and music from 3 O’Clock Jump. They’ll also have a silent auction.
This year’s event is being held in honor of “Mr. Alameda,” Melvin Sanderson, a lifelong Alameda resident and volunteer who died in January. Sanderson, a former member of the Planning Board and Alameda Hospital board of directors, served on Meals on Wheels’ board.
