Island sports: Middle school track championships

Alameda middle school track championships were held on June 2-3. More than 150 students from Chipman, Lincoln and Wood schools participated in the event, which was sponsored by the Alameda Education Foundation. Here are the results.

Shot put, seventh grade boys: 33’71/2” – Alex Penrose, Chipman

Shot put, eighth grade boys: 34’91/2” – Zach Ribera, Lincoln

Long jump, seventh grade girls: 12’6” – Leyla Stebbins, Wood

1600 meters, seventh grade boys: 5:28 – Andrew Melendez, Lincoln

400 meters, eighth grade boys: 1:02.53 – Marcello Predovic, Chipman

50 meters, seventh grade girls: 6.97 – Sara Jo Ciapponi, Lincoln

100 meters, eighth grade boys: 12.5 – Andrew Pavao, Lincoln

800 meters, sixth grade girls: 2.50.9 – Katy Carlson, Lincoln

4 x 100 meter relay, seventh grade boys: :54.84 – Wood (Santa Maria, Ve’e, Phan, Zhan)

4 x 400 meter relay, seventh grade boys: 5:00 – Lincoln (Melendez, Wong, Kim, Maiers)
