Police direct traffic Monday morning after a two-car accident at Lincoln and Oak.

Updated 11:34 a.m.

Here’s our shot of an accident this morning that blocked a portion of Lincoln Avenue, right in front of police headquarters. I wandered by around a quarter of 11 or so, just before emergency responders came on scene, and it looked like folks were trying to help someone out of this van.

I just got off the phone with Alameda Police Capt. Jim Brock, who said a driver heading north along Oak Street apparently ran a red light and broadsided the Rav 4 SUV you see here, which was headed west on Lincoln. The solo driver in SUV complained of pain, but it was not clear if they were transported to a hospital. It doesn’t sound like the solo driver of the first vehicle, a two-door Honda, was injured. Police are still investigating the accident.
