Lauren’s Closet Emerald Fairies vs. Piedmont Purple Panthers
The Lauren’s Closet Emerald Fairies played hard against the Piedmont Purple Panthers. Sofia del Campo was the starting catcher and was consistently alert and ready for all pitches. Playing between first and second, Kayla Chang stopped any ball that came her way and threw hard to first for the out. Maddie Mersch played at first base and made a few brave catches to make the out at her base.
McDonald’s/Alameda Pediatric Dental Blue Dolphins vs. Montclair Golden Dragons
The Blue Dolphins survived the heat! Suraya Ramirez, Nia Bella Lustig-Ellison and Patricia Penaver showed excellent fielding skills despite the hot, dusty afternoon. The coaches kept team spirits from melting and several parent volunteers kept the game moving and the girls cool. Thanks to all.
Carroll Construction Batting Bees 11, Diamond Diesel Service, Inc. Red Dolphins 0
The Bees jumped to an early lead with singles by Trina Eichel, Alex Martinez, Mira Piamonte, Savannah Mesterhazy, Kennedy Miller and Rosalyn Luque. The Red Dolphins defense by Caroline Bridges had a great catch at third base and two strikeouts by Maya McKinney in the second inning. The Bees’ hitting took over the game with 12 batters on the bags, including a triple by Christine Warren and a single by Danielle Archuletta to score the remaining seven runs.
Roberson Water Consulting Blue Devils 8, San Lorenzo Bombers 8
On a very warm Saturday afternoon, the Roberson Water Consulting Blue Devils and the San Lorenzo Bombers played to an 8-8 tie. Hitting stars for the Blue Devils included Lizzy Avery, Lily Walovich and Kimble Helms. Camille Deatherage had the clutch hit to tie the game. Deatherage and Beatrice Levy made great plays in the infield while Celia Magee made a great play in the outfield.
San Leandro Blue Diamonds 5, SMART Phone and Photo Blue Angels 1
The 8U SMART Phone and Photo Blue Angels lost a tough game to the San Leandro Blue Diamonds 5-1. The Angels made great contact with the ball as Rowan Esquer hit a sizzling line drive, Carlin Shannon drilled a ball through the infield, and Julianne McKenna slashed a pair of hits as well. Annika Stenstedt pitched an exciting inning and Rosie Sexton played rock solid defense as the Angels’ catcher.
Piedmont Purple Pandas 16, McEachern Engineering Alameda Angels 12
The 10U McEachern Engineering Alameda Angels lost a high-scoring game to the Piedmont Purple Pandas 16-12. Becky McEachern broke open the scoring for the Angels as she ripped a single that drove in three runs. Stivaly Maldonado stole a whopping four bases and speedy Valerie Sheridan added three more. Madison O’Connor made her pitching debut and also had a stellar infield out in the third inning in tandem with Mikayla Wong.
Gallagher and Lindsey Realtors Blue Bombers 8, Law Office of Paul Mahler Green Sea Serpents 5
Victoria Reim walked to start the second inning, and then stole two bases. Jackie Smith went to first after being plunked by a pitch. Helen Montell-Weiland drove in one with a base hit. Abigail Keep knocked in another run. Rileigh Long walked, then ran the bases aggressively when Anna Lynch drove in two RBIs. Meida Tautalatasi and Alexis Esparza singled, Chloe Hodge doubled, Anekaila Crevani tripled. For the final run, Edyn Garvisch hit a sacrifice fly.
Gallagher and Lindsey Realtors Blue Bombers 10, McEachern Alameda Angels 1
Pitchers Anekaila Crevani and Meida Tautalatasi allowed only one run. Anekaila struck out the side to start the game. Chloe Hodge scored the game-winning run in the first inning. Jenna Ingram, Rileigh Long and Emilie Watten reached base each at bat, scoring a combined five runs. Edyn Garvisch and Meida Tautalatasi kept their cool while catching.
Law Offices of Paul Mahler Green Sea Serpents 11, Bayside Specialty Construction Black Widows 6
The Sea Serpents were in great form Thursday night. On offense, Sally Parsons smoked one to the outfield for a two-run home run, and Victoria Avery ripped a single to drive in Zhana Prince, who reached base after taking one for the team. Victoria later got an RBI double and drove in Hadley Klein, who had two base hits. Julia Landreth pitched two strong innings, including striking out all three batters in the third.
Alameda Bayside Specialty Construction Black Widows 10, San Lorenzo Wrecking Crew 9
The Black Widows played a tense nail-biter under San Lorenzo’s broiling sun, ending up victorious. Alanna Norman’s bat stayed red hot with a scorching RBI hit to deep left field, and Dalia Quezada also scalded an RBI shot. Ginny Woodworth and Elizabeth Fraser both pitched as well as got fiery RBI singles, but the highlight play of the day was Vivienne Saulovich’s unassisted double play at third base, the hot corner, instantly cooling a Crew rally.
Douglas S Mitchell, DMD/Alameda Credit Union (RED) 10, San Lorenzo Fusion 9
An action packed game led (RED) to a win. Great pitching from Samantha Williams and Rachael Reising. Dominique Shaver had a double and a steal home in the first. In the bottom of the third, Shaver had a home run with two RBIs. Caitilin Shener stole second, third and home along with one single. Christina Carmon had her second home run of the season. Bernnie Steele and Kennedy Hanson walked and stole second, third and home in the bottom of the fourth capture the win.
